Need Help Asap Guys!! Please Check This Out, Thanks

i just bought a new tundra and have a appointment to get my windows tinted tomorrow afternoon. well this is my critical questions for you guys. what is the factory tint % on the dbl cab windows and the back glass. I also want to make the factory tint darker "like 5% if possible" then i want the front windows which have no tint what so ever to match the back once done. Is this possible and to those who have done this or know how this could be accomplished please fill me in asap, what i want in the end is for all the windows to be 5% all the way around, i cant stand missed matched tint on a vechicle.

Make sure it's legal first!!!
I'm a city Police Officer here in Michigan, and it is not legal to tint the driver or passenger windows AT ALL here. I write tickets 'till my hand hurts sometimes...

the rear is already tinted right? If so and you tint over it, its gonna be super dark, the factory level of tinting well smoked glass isnt illegal darkness wise here in texas so we can tint to the same degree in the front. I would go the same darkness in the front as the back, not too hard to see mirrors in the dark and so fourth.

I hate city police that pull people over for tint!! Thats not what I pay my taxes to give tint tickets. This is what I did double 5% tint in back 3 layers and just 5% in front and you can still see threw the fronts standing 3 feet away..... We have a really big front windshield that lets in to much light. I would say tint the windshield but only if you do a lot of highway driving.

Not my tundra but you get the idea of the windshield I think its 35% and the sides are 20%

i want basically 5% or limo "i don't know what limo tint is as far as a percentage" i just want the tint to match on all windows. so i was thinkin that they put something like a 30% over the factory tinted glass to darken it up, then measure the what that reads w/ the tint gauge them just match up w/ that reading. any info i would love to hear tips and ideas. thanks guys for the info above

Well I think limo is 5%!! idk everyone just says limo when its super dark.. If you have a good tinter he should match it up.. But I rather not take the risk and I just put 5% back and front. I aleay have had two tint jobs anything not darker then what they call limo is really light on the tundra "" big front window""

I got a ticket once for my tinted windows on my Tacoma. To make it short a CHP officer was board and was needing to meet his quota. He lit me up pulling out of a gas station in Northern California. Bal bal bal its illegal to tint your windows. I said well I'm not the only one braking this law as you can see. He writes me the ticket and says after you get the tint removed take your truck to a local CHP office to get the ticket written off. I said is it ok to take my truck to my local Sheriffs office? He said that would be fine also. I said cool my sisters a Sheriff she will write off the ticket for me The Chippy wasnt happy when I said that. He stood the for a minute thinking. I was hoping he was going to just rip up the ticket and send me on my way. He didnt rip up the ticket. A few minutes later I called up my sister and told her. She said just bring me the ticket when you come back. All I had to pay was the $10 processing fee. The tint never got removed

ok first of all unless you drive like an ahole or you have an ahole cop pull you over dont worry about the tint being illegal or not. I have been getting my cars tinted with limo for 10 years and so far so good.

Now as far as the tint goes here is what I have found. If you find a good enough tinter, he can put limo up front and put a lighter shade in the back where there is already privacy glass and it will all match perfect. I had this done to my scion xb when I had it and it came out completely perfect and I am very picky. Where I went and had the tint done on my truck the tinter was not confident enough to make it match from the beginnning so she matched the privacy glass all the way around and told me to come back and re wrap it all in limo. I never got a chance to go back yet but she matched it all and it looks good.

Oh and also you should tint the entire windshield. Man it keeps a lot of the heat out.

Most legal shops that do tint won't install anything that is illegal according to your state law. Some will do it without and invoice but they won't warranty it either. My side windows are a bit darker than they are supposed to be. I can see getting a ticket for a tinted windsheild but not for side windows being a little darker than they are supposed to be.

I have been debating getting the front side windows tinted the same as the back. I Have not had tinted windows before. How long are most warranties for? 1-2 years??

I asked the guy to tint my windshield be he talked me out of it saying that it alters your vision and if it's raining, it's really bad. He said you dont really notice the problems on the side windows cuz you're never really looking out of them for too long but that tinting the windshield would cause issues. I took his word for it and just got the visor strip done all the way across. Tinted windshield does look pretty sweet though.

Yeah my tint guy just told me the same thing I'm up at the shop right now. Gotta love the blackberry lol I'm always linked to this web page. We discided to put 5 percent on the back sliding glass because you can't see the sides and the back at the same time anyway. Then laying 20 percent over the factory tint followed up by 5 percent on the fronts and a 5 percent strip across the top of the windshield. Hopefully it comes out lookin great. I have had this place do me past 5 cars and they turn out perfect . Ill let you know how it turns out
