Valet Key

Ok folks, how many of us receive the "third" key. The gray one that I was told was the valet key. How does it work, I got one but have not tried it yet.

Your thoughts.

Mine came with 3 keys & 2 remotes. 2 black keys, 1 grey. The grey works in everything but the glovebox and tailgate.
This allows you to leave that key with a valet, so they can park the truck and lock the doors, but they can't unlock anything else for safety if you want to put something in the glovebox. (or bed if you have a cover)

I got one two. It will only start the car and I beleieve unlock the doors.

There is something funny about it like it wont go over a certain speed or something if I remember right. I got it in the little open storage spot right above the cup holders. May use it idk. Havehad my truck veleted once already and forgot about the key.

I got 2 black keys, 1 grey key (valet) and 1 white plastic key to keep in your wallet for when you lock your keys in your truck.

I use the valet key when I take it to the dealer or anywhere it has to be left for maintenance or repair work. I also use it if I am using valet parking....ha ha

As everyone mentioned above is right. The best is for maintenance and valet which I don't care for some kid parking my truck the way I do. I rather floor it than let a kid do that. But I didn't get one or my wife's Prius didn't get one. Had it with my 06 Silverado.

Hide it on the truck outside in the event you lock your black one inside.
