Raced a Tundra in my Mustang coupe
My friend got a new 5.7L Tundra and wanted to race, so I did, in an 86 coupe that I recently restored. The coupe has a stock '92 fox engine with an '82 carb. The only mods are 3.55 gears, 4 cyl T5(geared low) and UD pulleys.
I figured a truck, ~sure I'll smoke him bad~. Didn't work out like I thought. Off the line I pulled him by about 2 or 3 cars. then it stopped, he pretty much stayed there and I couldn't pull on him any further. I thought my coupe was about as fast a bone stock 5 speed 87-93. Not sure if it's slower than I thought or the tundra's faster than I was counting on. I'm trying to find 1/4 mile times of his truck, but haven't yet. If the info I've found is correct, it's rated at 381 BHP < No wonder it surprized me. What does a bone stock 2008 5.7L Tundra with double cab run in the 1/4 (ET and MPH)? Thanks |

RCSB 5.7 Tundra's run low 14's. One member at Tundra Solutions posted a video of his 13.9 second run at 99 mph with CAI and exhaust on his RCSB. The '07 Tundra brochure states 0-60 @ 5.68 seconds for the 5.7 RCSB.
