Rear Window Defroster

OK, so I'm wondering if I need to worry about this...

On my new 07 Double cab the rear window defroster takes a long time to do anything... and by long time I mean I can't tell if it's actually even doing anything. I don't drive that far to work so I'm wondering if maybe it's not on long enough to work. The side mirrors defrost and are clear in about 5 minutes but the rear window still covered in morning dew. Matter a fact, I it does so little I can't tell if it's suppose to defrost the whole thing or just the middle section. My commute is less than 10 minutes but even so I think it shoudl be doing something.

Funny...now that I've actually read what I just wrote, I think it's time to take it in.

I havent really looked into it, maybe it's for just the mirrors but I would think it should deforst the windows, but mine doesnt seem to do anything either. let me know what you find out.

I thought only the large sliding window on the Crewmax had defroster wires. My DC doesn't have any defrost wires in the back window, therefore no defrost.

My 08 DC is only the mirrors and if you have a sliding rear window in a DC it won't.

That's correct (that only the CM has a rear window defroster), unless Toyota changed up, which I doubt.

So here's what they said....

So I went to the dealer and talked to the service guy .... he said yeah, it doesn't work because I don't have a defrosting rear window. It doesn't have those lines in it. I coulda swore at some point when I was looking around and comparing I asked about that and they told me it was inside the black border around the outside.....mayeb that was something else, I'm confused. The service guy didn't seem very sure when I questioned him though.

Now that I checked the options in the Toyota website it doesn't list that as an option .....for some reason I thought I had that....not sure why. Maybe I just thought I deserved it for the cost of the truck....I don't know. Anyway, I guess the split rear slider doesn't have that.
