2008 changes

What changes have been made to the 2008 Tundra from the 2007 model?

I'm not sure they (2008's) are more expensive. My 2008 was $300 more than the '07, and with standard features on the '08 that cost extra on the '07's, like cold weather package, it's about a wash. In 2 years, if I were to sell it, the '08 would be worth $2-3000 more than the '07 just based on the year alone.
There are plenty of changes that a manufactures don't publicize, because they don't want to admit a fault with a previous model. Stuff like a stronger bearing here, a better seal on the tranny, better camshaft, etc. There are constant running changes made behind the scenes. I went to the dealer to buy a '07, and left with an '08.

Wait till late 08

With the tailgate and tranny issues I think I would wait and get a 08 and 1/2. I'm kinda regreting the 07 purchase. I'm told I should expect issues with a first year model, but I never worried about that with a Toyota before. By spring of 08 we will see how Toyota takes care of the 07 issues and that should give the 08 buyers a heads up. If Toyota sticks to its guns and advises we don't place weight on the tailgate I don't think this truck will be anything more than a fast showpiece. By the way my only complaints with this truck is the noisy 5.7 at startup and the fact I have to remove the tailgate to load my ATV.

Just looked at an 08 model. Not much in the way of changes right now. They do offer a tundra grade model below the SR5, but has the same options as the 2007 model SR5, plus the 6disc CD stereo is standard in the tundra grade crewmax.

I'm buying a 2008 in January.

I'm an "over-the-hiller" too, but so long as I can feel the gas pedal with my foot, it's all good. Weeeee!

IF you get thegrade be low SR5 you have to include the towing package which costs some money because it has less stuff.
