Exterior Door B Pillar

Has anyone taken the black tape off of the "b" pillar, between the front and rear windows on their Doublecabs?

I noticed the other day that it was tape and wondered what it would look like without it there. I know that it's there to create the one window look, but I think it would look good without the tape.

I'm not brave enough to be the first to do it, but would be interested to see if others have thought about it or have done this.

It's just like the rest of the truck. I'm sure it needs a coat of wax, but then again, the whole truck needs to be done.
