Question Headlight replacement

I was wondering if anyone else has swapped out their headlight bulbs? Ever since I used Sylvania SilverStar headlights on my old Jeep, I can't stand conventional bulbs.

I know the high beam is a standard 9005, but the low beam is listed as H11-55W. According to the Sylvania website, they don't make that bulb in a SilverStar. Has anyone else seen the same thing?

Just got a reply from Sylvania. They do not make the H11 bulb in any of their upgraded brands (Silver Star/Ultra/Cool Blue), however, they did forward my email on to R&D and Customer Feedback. They introduce new products about 6 times a year, so now that they know at least the new Tundra uses this bulb, they might consider producing it in the Silver Star line.

You might read this and think it's a waste of time, but seriously, it's worth the $100 or so you'll spend on bulbs ($100 will cover both high and low (obviously not yet), as well as the fog lights). Just my .02.

Have you checked with Hella for the low beams? I just replaced my highs with their High Performance Xenon Blue Bulbs.

I Agree

I agree, Sylvania Silver Star/Ultra/Cool Blue bulbs are great and the stock bulbs are usually the first things I replace. I must admit, the headlights on the Tundra throw pretty good light however. I will still replace them with the Sylvania Silver Stars though, as I do a lot of mountain road driving, and when the moon isn't out it's pitch black.

Does Hella make an H11 bulb in the High Performance line? If so, that may be the way to go. I'll look into it.

I've already swapped out high beam and fog lights, just waiting on the low beams for now.

Hella makes the low beam, H11. They are the blue tinted type and cost about $45-$50. Here's the link to a vendor they recommended. www.rallylights.com/
Good luck

i have been looking for replacment low beams for awhile now i didnt find the silverstars (aparently they dont make them) but the guy at the auto part store said the Nokya brand lights were way brighter and they were a few buck cheeper. i have never replaced lights b4 any thoughts on Nokya?

another question i dont want to burn wires up or do any damage, some of the replacments go up to 100W how many Wats can they handle b4 i brake them.
