I've had three F-150s all of which lasted 180K plus miles before selling. No issues with any of them. That being said, the jury is still out on the Tundra for me. Love the truck. Can't beat the power and gas mpg. Tows great. Little disappointed w/ paint and interior fit and finish. 8.6K miles with no issues.
I have had mine almost two weeks and I still catch myself staring at it after I park and walk away. I am pleased with my purchase so far and there are no issues with it yet. I am having a hard time adjusting to the gas mileage since I came from a turbocharged 2.4L 4 cyl. that got 22 mpg city and 30 highway. Now it's more like 15 hwy. but I will get over it
I bought my 07 Crewmax Limited Nautical Blue in July 07. I have 22,000 miles and had it in the shop once at 15,000 miles to fix a matter of convienence. Pass mirror wouldn't auto close. 45 Minutes in the shop and out I went. I travel alot in my in my Crewmax and I use it like a truck when I need it. I would buy another crewmax if it was a hybrid. That's what I will be looking for when I want another truck. Nothing in the near future will equal to what I got so I'm not in the market nor will I until Toyota comes out with the hybrid truck. Thanks anyway I'm totally satisfied with what I got. Mickey’s Traveling Tundra Crew | tundraheadquarters.com
guess i am the only one.. would most definitly NOT buy this truck again. Without a doubt it is the worst made product i have ever had from Toyota. New model or not, it has too many problems for me to classify it as a good truck. Sure the power is great, no disputing that. But at what cost? Horrible ride, poor paint, weak metal, terrible mpg, worst radio ever? that is not what i expect for this kind of money. Im not dissappointed at all, i think disgusted better defines my feelings for this truck. Sorry Toyota, this truck has lost you a lifelong customer.
Can't agree more. I used to say the worst truck I ever owned was a Chevy Colorado...no more! I have had nothing but problems, and this Tundra can't hold a candle to my last Toyota...that one I had for 140k miles, and only changed the oil and nothing else, not even brakes (I drive alot of highway miles). Going on 3 months with this Toyota, and now I PRAY something else goes wrong, because I've had it in twice for many things, but in Michigan it takes 3 issues to lemon law.
I'm not brand loyal, but if I had to replace it tomorrow, I'd go for another Tundra. 3 years from now? That's how long I kept the Titan, the F150, the Cherokee. The K1500 went in under 2 yrs. When they piss me off, they go away. At 5,000 mi. I've got nothing to bitch about. (I'm holding-out for that methane-powered 3/4 ton KIA crewcab)
Have all the "normal problems" (clock, air vent, piston slap, bumpy ride, and tail gate) but I am mostly happy. I am a diehard Toyota man (I have 4 Toyotas and a Corvette), but if I were to buy another truck, I would give Ford and Chevy a closer look next time.
What problem did you have with the tail gate?
I have a rattle (DC) somewhere in the back...can't pinpoint it...seems to only occur when you hit a bump at an angle.
haven't been to the dealer lately except for the scheduled maintenances. early issues all resolved and have not come back (air vent, tailgate wouldn't open, loose parking sonar connector, bad tire pressure computer). Expect a rough ride -- it is a truck :-) Have not had any problems with the tail gate not holding up to weight. Have had >1000lbs on the gate with no issues. just driving and loving it!
