2012 Crewmax Limited or 2013 Crewmax Texas Edition
So I was getting ready to pick up my new 2013 Tundra Crewmax with the following options:
* 5.7L
* Navigation w/Etune and back-up camera
* Leather
* Tow Package
* Texas Edition with 20" Wheels, Grille, Badge, etc...
* SR5 package
* 6 miles on the odometer
when the dealer called and said the truck was sold. So now I'm waiting on another truck to come. May take 10-20-30 days
Meanwhile I just found a 2012 Tundra Crewmax Limited with the following options:
* 5.7L
* Voice Activated Navigation w/Entune and back-up camera
* Leather
* TRD Package with Skid Plates, 18" Alloy Wheels, etc...
* Power Seats with 2 memory
* Heated Front Seats
* 36 miles on the odometer
QUESTION: Which Tundra would you pick AND Why?
Both are the same price and same color.
The 2013...the 2012 would need to be a much better price.
The limited adds options the 2013 doesn't have, however every day it sits on their lot is another day they need to dump it.
The 2013 can be upgraded here & there with aftermarket items to basically make it a Limited & it will be cheaper.
Having said that, I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2013 CrewMax unless the dealer comes up with a great 2012 with the same options or more & a hell of a good price.
I'd pick the limited, they typically have the auto climate control, the nicer gauge panel (optitron) and only thing you're not getting is the wheels & emblems from the tx edition. Does the limited have the tow package?

Thanks for your opinion, the way I see it, the 2012 Limited with the following options that the 2013 don't have such as TRD Package, Heated Front Seats, Voice Activated Navigation System, and Memory Seats makes the 2012 about $3k more but that's why their lowering their price.
I may get them to lower at most $500 but I'm just trying to see what's better. A 2012 Limited or a 2013 Texas Edition.

Correct, forgot about that. It does have automatic climate control and tow package,
I'm leaning toward the Limited and just updating the wheels to some 20" Rockstar Wheels (Black).
I'd get the 2012 but with a nice discount. 2012 crewmax's have a $8,000 rebate for cash purchase up here, although our prices are higher to start with.

The dealer reduced the price by $7,300 off msrp and there's another $3k off making it the same price.

Also a limited is likely going to yield a few bucks in resale. I would say the limited for the right price.

If one of them is not FFV, then get it immediately cause the only thing in life that really matters is a SUPERCHARGER . If not then the limited is better to me than the TSS. I sold my old exhaust to a 2013 tss owner and all he said that was different was some running boards ( that needed replacing anyways) and some floor mats. If you are into aftermarket mods then my thought is dont pay for stuff you are going to replace later with other stuff

i basicly just did what you are thinkimg about doing they had one 12 left and it was loaded and they took almoast 8g's of the sticker price i got the 100,000 mile warrenty and gap ins for cheaper then the sticker on the truck...
I'd go for the 2012 Limited. Considering the price being the same the Limited has more options compared to the 2013 Texas edition model. Personally, I would haggle more since it's a 2012 model and the 2013 models have been on most dealer lots since Sept. or Oct. With the month of January coming to a close, it's a good time to negotiate.
Go with a Limited because it's wired for other accessories you may not have on it. Mine was. It didn't come with a backup camera but was wired for one. Got one off ebay cheaper than dealership. Wired for GBS which I'll get shortly and plug and play like the backup camera. Same for Sonar and Navigation.

I just bought a '12 Crewmax Limited with the exact same options you listed. Paid $38,800.
I personally like all the "creature comforts" of the Limited model, but I would make sure you get a better price on the '12 especially in light of the fact that they sold the truck you were going to buy.
I would wait till towards the end of this year after they release the new Tundra. They will literally be getting rid of the 13's and 12's.
