Sounds weird to me if it is true. Why run it all the way from side mirror into truck & to rear view mirror when they could just put it in the rear view mirror to begin with?

Anyway I would tell them who cares. Tow mirrors I'd be using every single day would be used much more than a compass I have never once used. Even if I'd still want the compass I'd get the mirrors and buy a $5 compass from Amazon that's much more fancier.

This is what I was told.

I thought that seemed odd also but I don't know what to think. He told me that what they figured out and took them a while to find it when another truck was in from out of town. I don't know it still doesn't make sense to me and I'm not sure if I believe it. Probably will just end up getting slide over mirrors I have heard good things as long as you get them secured tight.

Does anyone have a compass that has replaced there mirrors did you lose it. I don't know what to think of it. You would think they would be out there to make money.

Don't feel special. I had a Dealer service manager tell me that the only way they could replace all the fluid in my Corolla transmission was to remove it from the vehicle and turn it up on it's end to drain.

Luckily my service writer who is not a technical guy but a good common sense guy stepped between us and diverted me from cutting the guys throat to keep me from eliminating him from the Gene Pool.

The Dealership also has a parts woman and since she has a platinum and I have a lowly TRD offroad SR5, every time I ask about purchasing an option, she tells me that her platinum has it but what I want won't work with my truck.

The voices in my head don't like you.

Tell the guys in the service department that you are sorry, but you can no longer be family friends. Go to another dealer and order the mirrors and install them yourself. It takes about 20 minutes if you take your time, and they will work just fine.

Buy the tow mirrors, and the HomeLink rear view mirror. I can email you my spare compass from the drivers side mirror....

The HomeLink rear view mirror is self contained, you just pull the power cord from the head unit and plug it in. You can use any side mirror you want. General rule of thumb is you get the features you had. So if you have power/heat/side lights, then you'll get them on your tow mirrors.

Seriously, the guy is either an idiot or he is messing with you. Sounds a lot like buying a bubble for a spirit level, waiting in line for your long stand, waterproof tea bags, solar powered candles, tartan paint, bucket of steam, tin of elbow grease, glass hammer, box of sparks for the grinder. A school friend was doing work experience in the 80s at the local hospital as a porter. He was told to ask the matron for a set of fallopian tubes and a mammary gland, which he did. . .
