I was wondering if any of you have experience the tailgate not latching all the way shut, and will pop out about a two inches from being flush. It is -30 and finally was able to get tailgate not to freeze with tonneua cover, now the tailgate wont latch, i tried working the locks with wd40 and that is not happening. Any suggestions, thanks.

Sure sounds like the latch is frozen. There was a TSB for the '07 & '08 with a tailgate wouldn't open, but I don't remember anyone having a won't close problem.

-30 C is pretty cold, the mechanism is probably having a hard time moving.and the whole tonno cover freezing to the tailgate sucks to,i dealt with that last year with my old double cab,i have a different tonno cover on my crewmax, but it really hasn't snowed here yet so i'm waiting to see if it'll freeze to it or not.

What kind of tonneau cover did you get, and maybe I will have to try washing the tailgate and see if that works... just frustrating

went with the access tonno sport low profile roll up cover, only kind i had a budget for at the time.needed a cover since i leave the golf clubs in the bed all summer long.eventually i'm going to get the lazerlite hard tonno cover,i like the concept of not having to open that hard cover to open and close the tailgate.it's the only full sealing cover that i could find that allows that.see if you can get some hot water on the latches and maybe they'll latch correctly and you won't have to worry about it for awhile.
