I know this may sound easy but where is the filter located in a 2011 Double Cab 4.0L V6 1GR-FE. Visually I don't see the normal filter on the sides but by the drain plug and Oil dipstick sump is a black cover with 12 bolts. Is the filter internal to that pan?? Any help is greatly appreciated, owners manual does not help.
Thanks Coastie, I checked and did not see that. I did see that in a web search as well but not on this Tundra. I will keep searching and hit the toyota service dept if I have to. Appreciate the help though. Broj10903
Coastie, My setup is different. I don't have the oil housing right in front of the fill cap. I don't have http pics set up and I can't paste. Also the engine I have is 1GR-FE.
Thanks Jake, your right. I climbed under and saw it but will do the work tomorrow. Looks like a 3/8" drive to remove the outer cover but I should be able to figure out the rest when I get the plate off. Thanks so much for the help. Brian
