What happened today...

Another fantastic dealership visit.

I needed to replace my fog lights due to moisture getting in them and ruining the chrome plastic..

Dealer told me I didn't have original bulb that came in the truck, the fog lights are no longer under warranty... (Normal bulbs. I have been having this problem since day one I got the truck. I tried numerous bulbs and even HIDs but I cannot keep the moisture out. I have had the fog lights replaced under warranty about 5 times now, not joking. Dealership in Maine.. I am in jersey now, I know what I am going to do now, just get new fog lights and seal the back out of them with a rubber epoxy but for the sake of this post, I will continue)

I kept quite the whole time and finally had enough of the bs they were spitting out about a frigging replacement bulb causing a warranty issue.

I explained how inaccurate that statement was and to read the actual warranty paperwork. told me and I quote "don't tell me how to do my job". I was so shocked that I left. no burning out or hard accelerating. just left.

I decided to go to another dealership and apparently the manager had called the other dealer to tell them I was trying to come in and lie and it was fraud and any who..

after they told me they would call the cops on me, I showed the manager my badge and told them I would be back with the biggest nastiest lawyer I could possibly find. (as a cop, unfortunately I know a lot of those.)

So I plan on getting ahold of the BBB and Toyota's east coast headquarters and having business handled.

Amazing, my new dealer, Durango motor company, treats me like a king. No issues and makes me feel like my little service or recall is the second most important thing that they take care of, the first being my happiness.

I am perfectly fine with spending the money and getting new ones. Not one problem what so ever. It is just the fact that he had the audacity to sit there and lie to my face about something that is completely ridiculous as fog lights.

if it had just stayed as no it isn't under warranty. than fine. I will buy them from you. but the fact they kept telling me I was wrong and pushing me (verbally) then calling me a liar and trying to commit fraud.

that is what pushed me over the line.

That's one of the many reasons I refuse to go back to my selling dealer. Better know your crap before you accuse me of something.

Time to fall back on plan B

Go in the dealership armed to the teeth and kill every swinging dick in the place.
Burn it to the ground and snipe the stragglers.
Then salt the earth so nothing ever grows there again.

What dealers were those in NJ? I want to make sure I don't ever patronize them.

Did you buy your truck in Greenville? I miss there service department. Never had an issue with getting anything done with them. They even replaced a leaky cv boot with brand new cv's on my wife's fj and we didn't even buy the fj from them. Good luck with getting everything handle. Wish I could have seen the look on the guys face when you flashed your badge lol.

Stealership people are the biggest scums on earth.

That quote was from my brother's friend. He took his Tacoma into a local dealership. I fixed the burned out bulb for under $5.

Stealership. License plate bulb and waterpump cost the same

Dude, That dealership is b.s. I went in with hid's after my factory fogs which can not handle H2O AT ALL had failed previously...

I explained why I switched to hid's ( hid bulbs actually do not care as much about water due to the way they work...) I told them that the hid bulb could only handle so much water till it shorted, they swapped the passenger side housing, no issue...

The pass side inner fender well had slots cut out in the front of it and that causes road spray directly onto the back of the bulb...

If you drive in a really hard driving rain on the highway for a few hours, say northern Mi to near Detroit, the fog light will take on water even stock...

sucks that they tried to bone you... Eph, em, you have your history with water taken into the housing... I say to take it to the service manager and/or general manager, then from there to contact the BBB no matter what the outcome.
