Well, I did it. Bought the F350 on Friday afternoon. Tundra is sitting out front, looking sad and depressed. She knows her fate will soon be sealed.
It has been a great pleasure getting to know y'all. This forum is hands-down the best forum I've ever used. Thank you to everyone for making it such a valuable resource and a pleasant place to get advice or just have fun.
Recently I've spent some time on the powerstroke.org forum...nothing compares to TT.
My new truck is a 2012 F350 crew cab long bed 6.7L diesel lariat ultimate FX4...I cannot believe how much truck I got for the money. MSRP was $62,820...I paid $51,000...and this rig is loaded. Getting 16MPG (320 miles so far) feels pretty good, especially for this beast. My first Ford, and my first diesel...we'll see how that goes! But I had to get a rig with payload (Slim, please don't hunt me down and cut me)!
Anyway, thanks guys...I feel like I'm saying goodbye to good friends.
Congrats and good luck with it! Its been good knowing you and bouncing ideas off you. We gonna need someone else to step up, who is an oil geek, so I can ask more stupid questions

Yeah we've had some fun with the oil. I'm 1K miles away from the 10K/20K test...I have to say the oil looks pretty frickin' good still. I may just pull a sample anyway and send it in...although I'm pretty sure my wife would divorce me for being such a nerd!
Hey at least stick around and let us know how that 6.7L Diesel is. Kind of curious myself on those. I know the 7.3L's were great engines, haven't heard anything on the new 6.7L's other than the stupid DEF BS that's on them now. Just another bunch of money to spend on unnecessary fluids.

yeah, the engine & tranny drive great so far...smoother & faster than i expected. but i read on the ford forum that a lot of turbos are being burned up...also read some bad stories from the 2011s...hopefully they worked out some of the issues before my late model 2012! either way, i'm buying Ford's 200K engine warranty they offer, plus the 100K extended bumper to bumper warranty.
i'll check back in once in a while and let you know of any reviews i have, good or bad...
