Who Has The Best Price On TFS Platinum Extended Warranty?
I plan on keeping my Tundra for a while and not do any major crazy mods. I like to think of an extended warranty as "sleep insurance" - I will sleep better knowing the major non-wear-and-tear items are covered beyond the 3/36K and 5/60K new car warranties. Risk management if you will.
My 2011 Tundra is at 31,000 miles, so I want to pull the trigger in the next thousand miles or so.
I am looking at the $0 deductible, 7 years/125,000 miles, Platinum vehicle service agreement from Toyota Financial Services. So far the best price I have been quoted is $1,144.00. Was curious if there is a better price out there in cyberspace?
Thanks in advance.

Who I used a year ago...
That is who gave me the price I noted in my original post. I spoke to the dealer I bought my truck from, and they told me the best they could do was $1,888. Needless to say Jerry got my business. Pulled the trigger this morning. $1,144 out the door. I would recommend Jerry to anyone here.

I picked up the 7 year/100K for $595 if I recall when I bought my CPO Tundra. At my local dealer.
That is a sweet deal you got. Jerry quoted me $889 for the 7/100,000 option.

Let me double check my paperwork and make sure I did not state the wrong amount.
EDIT: Double checked, it stated CPO Used platinum 7/100K plan. So a slightly differnet plan probably at a discount as it had alreday been throught the certification process.
They have price fixed extended warranties in Florida. The price is fixed for florida residents no matter who/where you buy it from. Not that I feel like I need it on my tundra but the whole concept torques me to no end.

So you mean if you called Jerry in Kansas, he couldn't give you the prices he gave me? WTF? This isn't Russia, is it?

I live in Florida and have bought my toyota warranties from Troy Dietrich at Greenfield Toyota in Greenfield Mass. If you buy it anywhere in FL it is a fixed price, however you can buy it cheaper out of state. Did the same thing with a GMPP warranty on a corvette. Big Shasta, you are being told wrong info.
When I bought our Honda Odyssey here in Florida (2008) I looked at extended warranties outside florida because they were half price. NONE of the dealers I talked to would sell me a warranty if I had a florida registration.
Now it looks like that issue has been lifted. They used to regulate warranties like insurance but I just rechecked and it looks like they lifted that in 2010.
Motor Vehicle Service Agreement - Forms & Rate Issues
As a result of SB 2176, effective 06/01/2010, the requirement that forms and rates for motor vehicle service agreements (also referred to as an auto extended warranty).be filed and approved by the Office of Insurance Regulation has been lifted.
By July 1, 2011, each service agreement sold in this state must be accompanied by a written disclosure to the consumer that the rate charged for the service agreement is not subject to regulation by the OIR. A service agreement company may comply with this requirement by including such disclosure in its service agreement form or in a separate written notice provided to the consumer at the time of sale.
The OIR may order a service agreement company to stop using a form that:
1. Is in violation of or does not comply with the Florida Insurance Code or an Administrative Rule.
2. Contains any inconsistent, ambiguous, or misleading clauses, or exceptions and conditions which deceptively affect the risk purported to be assumed in the general coverage of the service agreement.
3. Has any title, heading, or other indication of its provisions which is misleading.
4. Is printed or otherwise reproduced in such manner as to render any material provision of the form substantially illegible.
5. Contains any provision which is unfair or inequitable or which encourages misrepresentation.
6. Contains any provision which makes it difficult to determine the actual insurer or service agreement company issuing the form.
7. Contains any provision for reducing claim payments due to depreciation of parts, except for marine engines.
I stand corrected, Thank You Florida for coming to your senses.
