I already own a really expensive Mongoose Data cable. My Father-In-Law liked it but didn't want to pay the huge cost. He only wanted to read error codes, not reprogram anything.

I bought one of those cables for my father-in-law so he could read ODBII codes. It claimed TIS support, but for $35 I was sure this would be read only.
It arrived earlier this week. I just opened the box today. It came with TIS software and drivers. I installed it and it *works* exactly the same as my much more expensive mongoose. It has a full version of TIS, no license required. I reprogrammed a couple of options - works great.
single cable for MINI VCI FOR TOYOTA TIS Techstream V7.10.030

This is $35 folks! Less than the cost of what some of you are paying to enter your TPMS codes for winter/summer tires at the dealership. Shipping took a couple of weeks.

I'm not affiliated with this company, just a customer.

Just informing. I bought one.

So can you confirm that with this I could turn on my alarm and do settings such as auto door lock, seatbelt chime, ect?
That is correct. I have the Mongoose cable, which does this. When this cheapo cable arrived I confirmed it worked exactly the same. I made some changes to the key reminder chime as a test.

So to get things strait, you bought the cable and it came to your suprise, with the Techstream software?
There are many of us that want this, please do not toy with us.

The cable comes with everything you need, including Tech Stream.
I had been using an older unlocked version of TechStream (v6). This cable came with version 7 (the latest version).
If needed, I'll post a video of it in use.

FYI - this cable works with a real Windows PC and even a Mac running Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion. The Mongoose cable drivers would hang my Mac, but with this cable I don't have to boot in to Windows. I just open Windows in a virtual environment and program away :D

To summarize:

You get a cable. You get unlocked (no subscription required) TechStream (latest version).
You can reprogram the Tundra (in fact any Lexus or Toyota). Turn off nannies - yes. Change TPMS - yes. Anything the dealership can do - you can do.
I am not selling these. I bought one and tested it, that is all.
I've been a member of this site for almost 5 years - this is not a scam, con, or joke.

Thanks for the quick response. (reaching for CC now). I wonder if this can work with a tablet. My Toshiba has USB ports. I've gotten so I used to using my tablet for everything anymore.

Still won"t bitch if I have to use the laptop.

Thanks again

Their site (and the user guide they send) is kinda out of date. They show version 6 in the screen grabs, but they state it ships with version 7 (and it does). The CD they ship is a mini CD which will not work in a slot load drive - I emailed them and they quickly emailed me back a link to download it directly from their Microsoft SkyDrive. You'll need to do this if you don't have a tray load CD ROM. Those tiny 'mini' CDs will get stuck in a slot load.
On the site they also said it needs Windows XP. I am using this on Windows 7 in a virtual environment on a Mac, and also installed it on Windows 7 on a real PC, Dell laptop. So I don't believe you need XP - your milage may vary.

2.2 run the "TISKEY.exe" in CD to Active the software automatically, the Icon "VCXConnect" on desktop is no use, you can delete it.

step3. Run the "Techstream" on desktop,

3.2 Select the language you want,
3.3 The register information, you can write everything you want, fill all the blank, then OK.

I hate to be a buzz kill but is this for some kind of cable and pirated software?

It is not advertised as a cloned cable and pirated software.

What we do know:
A Mongoose cable MSRP is $495.
A 1 year subscription to TechStream is $1,590
This solution is $35
China is renowned for cheap clones. China appears to openly flaunt copyright laws.

This cable does not appear to be a clone of the Mongoose. I had to install the provided drivers to use it, I could not use my Mongoose drivers. In TechStream I now have a drop down menu with 3 devices to select, where previously I had two (Toyota TechStream and Mongoose). The cable is identified as an "x-horse" MVCI cable.

Never for a minute thought it was a sanctioned program. The only thing I care about is we have long time member, with many post who has used the unit first hand. Call me a wuss, but I could never grow the balls to try this out on my truck. Now we got a senior member endorsing a product and his truck still runs.

I'm giving Pony a huge thank you if this works me.

I wonder if we are overloading this companys computers with all the purchases in the last 4 hours? Think they'll have to send another boat?

I don't care who makes it as long as it works. The real criminals are the OEMs, putting half their engineering efforts into throwing up as many roadblocks as possible, so only dealership techs or millionaires can access / repair / customize. Anyone who find a way in for a good price is going to get my money. :yesnod:

Thanks for the info, pony. I have been putting off driving 25 miles to beg the dealer to turn off the noise for over two months. I just rolled the dice for $35 in hopes I can take care of things myself.

I have hyper-sensitive hearing as a symptom of the MS I live with, and put many miles off-road on my farm, getting in and out. I don't wear a seatbelt when I'm not on pavement. This sound makes me enjoy my truck less, and I am looking forward to having a bit of control over the set up.

I appreciate a chance to address a problem!
