not offered in the US, cause it would take away from Tacoma sells and toyota has been moving tacos like hot cakes since they came out so they do not want to do anything to hurt the title and all. really wish we could get them cause I would have one in my parking spot faster than you could blink

as funny as it is, the truck is an arctic truck.

They are the Tacomas built overseas, the question is why can't we get the 4 cyl turbo diesel in a Tacoma which gives the Hilux 30+ mpg?

Yeah, the are def. all over the world. The Afghan National Army pretty much uses them as they all purpose truck. Between it and the Ford Ranger, these little diesels are everywhere over here. I will try to get some pictures of all the different Toyota diesels that run around here (Landcruisers, Hilux's, etc.).

When I worked at Warn we had a Hilux in our design bay for quite a while (back around 1997ish)...using it to measure & fit winch bumpers...I always liked them and wished we could get a version here...would be a great cheap ranch truck.
