I dont think they are there for strength, but how hard would it be to just fill it up with resin and fiberglass cloth, oh yeah and where can I buy it? hows your intake coming along ***?

Well thats what I ment. The squares aren't that deep and they would partially fill anyway.

what about bondo? Does that stick to plastic? I know I wouldnt want a chunk to fall of and land in the plenum.

I think fiberglass might be the best idea, Holmzz Depot has the resin and cloth.

Did no one watch the K&N video I posted earlier? Air speed inside the box, across the filter, is only 1-2 mph so why would it need to be smooth?

Yeah, probably the only place to really think about what is happening to the air flow would be between the filter and the engine.

I just dont think that those ribbs or gussets would affect the CFM being pulled into the engine.

and between the filter and the engine is the lid of the air box with the ridges that are more than likely making the air more turbulent and in return slowing flow, aren't all of k&n's open box?
