Hell yeah, every little bit counts. Now to get a dyno done and see the real results.

Maybe at WOT but virtually all (factory) EFI vehicles run rich at WOT........it's an engine safety factor thing. At anything less than WOT, these puppies run lean & clean.

Per Federal Law (Magnuson-Moss Act), a manufacturer can't deny warranty coverage unless they can prove the the modification caused the failure.

I guess my concern is that it is part of the emissions control system. So isnt this like modifying the catylitic converters, O2 sensors, evaporative controls systems....etc. etc.
Did someone answer the question of the TRD CAI has a charcoal filter in it??
That would be a good come back to Toyota if you were ever asked about this...

Thanks

I want to smooth out the inner lid, my kids used all my dremel bits for " scientific experiments" They really just cut alot of crap up.

Smoothing out the inner lid will not improve anything as the air has not started into the flow path yet. A still air box should have some ridges to keep from having an air channel. Having everything smooth inside the pipe, throttle body, manifold would help but doing the inside of the airbox will only weaken the box...IMHO a waste of time.

Does anyone have a pic of the inside of a lid on an aftermarket cai, the ridges are in there to keep noise down and im sure it would help improve flow some, experimenting is experimenting.

I'm gonna do this mod tonite... I ordered a Brute Force CAI two weeks ago and still no sign of it. Called JC Whitney to see where the hell it was. After being on hold for 15 minutes they told me it was still back ordered from the factory. I got pissed off and cancelled the order. They could have called or emailed me to tell me what was going on...

I'm gonna rip out that pesky restricter and slap in a good replacement filter and save me several hundred bucks.

More money to buy beer!

Anyone figure out what size cone will fit in there???
