"Arctica" 2015 Crewmax Platinum Tundra Build

The title is all I got, right now
Even though I still have not received my truck , I decided to start my build page.
Some "pre build moves", have been made, to make her my own, before she gets here

Truck as it comes
2015 Crewmax Platinum (white)

AMP Power steps were ordered , along the remote start.
Since the forum is a valuable resource, I cancelled the remote start, because it has problems
I ordered the TRD Pro grill . I will decide what to do with it after it arrives. Maybe a different twist

The Supercharger will be installed, before I take it away from the dealer. They are in the process of quoting me, for the install .

I started with
a BA Muffler TRD Replacement set up, from Keith. I still want to keep it more on the luxury side and will keep it mellow. Keith said it would be a 24/5 muffler and I purchased the TRD Dual exhaust tailpipes. I will be painting them black
I have ordered the Transfer Flow Midship, 46 gallon replacement gas tank and have it scheduled for install, on the 29th of April (I hope I have the truck by then)

The ARE Z series cap has been on order for a week or so. It may come in before the truck :)

Next up is suspension.
Total Chaos and Fox are what we are planning for on this build
After I get my hands on it,
There will be parts that I have from my FJ to install
Kenwood 710 GA dual band ham radio . with built in GPS to run APRS
Diamond NR770HB Dual band antenna
Call sign W1KDD
CB Radio as a portable mount
Lil Wil mag mount antenna
Escort Passport Radar Detector
Engel Refrigerator and associated mount behind the center console
Dual battery will be in the plan too

Things I need to decide on

A RTT Probably a hard shell , to keep it looking sleek, with a custom built rack, very low profile
Lighting and more lighting

I may also sound deaden the cab before all of the interior stuff gets put in
The next focus will be the stereo, depending how it sounds after I get the truck

No pics until it arrives. I just thought a timeline would be in order
Update 5/4/2015
The truck was picked Friday, from Findlay

So excited for your build! I know it's going to be even more impressive than The Rock in some way. I'm also really envious that you get to have the 46-gallon replacement tank. I wonder if I can have it installed outside of California and come back, but I'm not sure of the legal issues around that here.

While I am still awaiting my Tundra to show up at the dealership (they think Saturday) Then they will install a few things on Monday

I have a few things taken care of to feed it
46 gallon tank. Since Findlay Toyota will be installing the supercharger, they will need to drop the stock gas tank. I asked if they would want to install the fuel tank at the same time and he said yes, and it would only add 1 hour to the install

BA Mufflers brought my Dual TRD replacement system to the Sedona event. Here it is along with the TRD tail pipes, I prepped and painted black . I actually used a propane torch ,heating the inside of the pipes, to bake the heat paint on. I did this in several cycles, so hopefully it will stay for a bit

I also ordered a Blend Mount for my Escort Max Radar detector
It isn't listed on Escorts site, but if you go to the Blend Mount site and match the profile of the mirror pedestal, to the pictures on the site, you can find a match for it.

A few boxes awaiting the truck, for install. I will find out Monday, if the truck actually made it yet. My goal was to pick it up Tuesday, but I may need to pick it up Wednesday, after the blower install. The hard part is... the waiting

I'm jelly of the supercharger for sure. That has to be nice but mine is the flex fuel model so no go for me.

I'm going to check out the gas tanks. It seems odd to me that the tundras only hold about 20 gals which means I'm always needing to stop for fuel when dragging our camper.

Looking forward to seeing truck.

The myth, The legend, the Tundra,,, finally arrived. Geeez. Seems like its been a long road
Going through Pre Delivery Inspection , Then goes under the knife, for the s/c - fuel tank install
Cody took a pic for me as he was passing by. I even asked them to abolish the seat belt chime, while he was running the computers :)

Thanks I can actually see her LOL

Wikid! I loved what you did with your FJs. I watched your builds, "Wikid" and "The Rock" when I had my FJ. Can't wait to see the progress of your Tundra build!
Great to see you here and thank you. I know a few are waiting to see what else I have going on. I have a high mark to set. I hope not to dissapoint ;)

Thank you

Here are some details on what will be installed.
Engel 43qt, that can actually freeze food if you want it to. The amp draw is about 2.3 per hour.
Most of the time, it will not discharge the battery, to a point where it won't start, unless you don't run your truck for a few days. It also had an A/C cord. When that is plugged in, it takes over the charging duties . Eventually, I will add solar and maybe a dual battery, if I think it's necessary, but in reality if you want to keep drinks cold on a daily basis, I usually get home and just plug it in. Since we have no kids to haul around, this will be mounted directly behind the center console, so its and easy reach while on the road

I ran this all the time in my FJ Cruiser. If you do lots of camping or traveling, its a blessing to have this, so you are never a slave to ice and soggy sandwiches

One more pic to show some "blower porn", in the process of being installed. I can pick up the truck tomorrow morning :D

I was suppose to pick up my Tundra Thursday morning, then drive out to San Diego, for the weekend, but after I drove up to Flagstaff I found out that it wasn't ready. The back story is the tech completed the Supercharger, Tuesday' , then went to install the new fuel pump and found out it was damaged. The new one was suppose to arrive Thursday morning. I went to San Diego , where I am now with the loaner Tacoma :(

After a call was made to check on the status today and we were told it's been road tested by the tech and good to go. We will go back to Phoenix via Flagstaff and pick it up Monday.

This trip was planned with a first road trip with the Tundra, but at least WE made the trip

Pics on Monday

I have not decided yet. I have an ide what wheels I want, but if they will fit and will they allow me to run 35" tires
method has a blank cast bead lock in a 17" that would allow me to decide what color to powder coat and even be able to have the rings, a separate color. It's. 17x 9 that has a 4.5 backspace, which means they will stick out some . If they stick out, they will have a larger arc. That also means I will definitely have to do a BMC , but how much more will I have to do to the fender well and also the front bumper, at least until I get aftermarket ?

I created a thread about it but never got any replies

Tires I will decide after the wheel selection, but I am thinking an aggressive a/t

Sorry. Body Mount Chop. That's what we called it from the FJC forum. The other factor on wheel selection will be. If I get beadlocks, who will work on them? I doubt discount will even touch them, so I don't want to have difficult service in the future

After what seemed like an eternity, my truck was done . I picked it up today, on the way back from California.
I must say, the boost is mighty impressive. They filled the tank. It took 141 bucks :). I think I used about 1/4 tank coming home. He wanted me to vary the speed and not go more than about 1/2 throttle. That seemed to be lots of power , so I can't wait for the rest of it :)
