Hi everyone - I have a 2010 tundra SR5 stereo... i'm looking to install a backup camera and figured the best place for the display would be in the in-dash stereo... to do that i'd need to swap out the OEM unit with something better -- any ideas on units that install easily and work with the steering wheel controls, BT, XM, and provide navigation and a backup camera? I'd like it to be as painless as possible... any thoughts?
I installed a Kenwood 6190hd which has all the features you are wanting. I recall having to purchase an additional part to get the steering wheel controls to work and of course the face plate that blended it in with the dash.
I like pretty well overall, I have had it for 2 plus years so I bet they no longer offer it. The more precise model is dnx6190hd. My biggest complaint would be the cost of getting the Garmin navigation current, was over $300 last time I looked. I had the OE JBL system and my wife says she can hear me better on the Kenwood phone interface than the JBL, it did have a separate mic, couldn't use the OE mic. Back up camera works well, doesn't have any guidelines. Has a USB input. You can upload a background picture, like a screen saver. It had input for my Sirius radio( it does have Sirius radio), I have a docking station for a plug and play. Like most, it had Pandora and similar phone radio apps installed. Very good sound with my stock speakers.
