First off I have a 2008 Tundra Limited DC 4X4. My factory skid plate is getting the crap beat out of it and I'm getting kind of tired of pounding out dents and trying to realign the support brackets. Is there a better, stronger, skid plate option out there? Something that's a direct replacement? I've seen the Pro Comp ones but they look like stainless sheet metal in the pictures. Are they any stronger than the OEM one and would it worth the swap? I've also seen the BudBuilt option but they're prices are outrageous! Is there anything else out there?
What's up?

Do you think a 3/16" plate is good? I know it's thicker than the stocker but it still seems rather thin.
I personally think that is all the protection you need. I'm sure don't abuse your truck when offroading, do ya? Btw, what is the OEM plate made out of?
My neighbor's brother has full plates on his Dodge, same thickness, and they seem damn near bulletproof.
The ones they have on their site are like $350 and then it's another $260 if you want it powdercoated.

Order it plain and have it powder coated locally. I personally would leave it without, it is just going to get scratched and beat up anyway. 3/16" should be plenty beefy especially if they kink it or bend it to stiffen it.
