Is Off Road package worth it?
Is the off road package worth it. The only thing unique to it is the skid plates, shocks and suspension. How is the suspension different? Skid plates should be easily added aftermarket as well as shocks (which if you are lifting may not work anyway).
Can I get some opinions? Thanks Greg |

If you are planning on modifying your truck - i.e. lift kit, different shocks, etc., it probably is not worth it. However, if you are like me and have any intention to use it off road, the package is well worth it. I personally am not into big modifications so I went with the package because it fits my needs. It's your call.

I purposefully bought the Tundra Grade model because I knew as the factory stuff wore out I would be replacing it with better aftermarket stuff. My last 3 Toyota trucks had the TRD package and in my opinion it is not worth the price. The only reason I bought the TRD package on those trucks is because it came with a factory locker which is well worth it. The Tundra doesn't have a locker option.
The TRD suspension doesn't last any longer than regular factory suspension and the skid plates are pretty much a joke. Well they will protect the truck from rocks on the highway but if you plan on getting down and dirty in the rocks buy some 1/4" steel aftermarket skids. YMMV.
