Big Tire Question

I am going to be putting a 6" lift on my 08 Tundra but am not sure how big of tires I should get. I have seen several with 35" tires but that is as big as I have seen. I would like to go as big as possible and was wondering if I could put 37" tires on it. Does anybody have any pictures or know of one with tires that big?

It takes a 37 to start to look big on the new Tundra. 37s look great and seem to work okay based on these photos.

Wont tires that size completly throw off the speedo and maybe even need some re-gearing???? I heard that somewhere and it kindda crushed my dreams of adding huge tires like these.

Regearing: That would change your effective gear ratio from 4.30 to 3.75. It might affect you more if you tow, but would be quite tolerable otherwise.

Speedo: The speedometer would be about 15% slow, showing 52mph when your doing 60mph. Use constant mental awareness or Hypertech.

expect a huge hit to gas mileage. I went from the BFG Rugged Trail 275-65-18 to BFG AT KO LT285-65-18. Not much of a difference in size (actually made my speedometer closer to my gps reading), but there is a difference in weight. The stock tire weighs 43lbs (just tire) and the AT weighs 60 lbs. Even when comparing corrected MPGs, the ATs are getting about 1MPG less. I'm thinking it is the extra weight. I've taken other trucks from stock 31s to 35s. Gas mileage went from 13 to 8.

I have the ProComp on mine with 35's and the tires rub on a full turn so I can't imagine 37's would work unless you had a bigger lift than 6 inches.

The best tire for toytec lift kit ???

who can tell me the bigest tire size that I can use with the Toytec 3" Lift without rubbing.

I'm waiting for my Kit and need to choose the rigth Tire. BFG Mud terrain is that I am thinking to install, but i'm not sure about the size.

I have the Toyo 285/75/18's on my 2008 with the Top Gunz lift and they rub on the sway bar, only on the right side at full lock. They are 34.8" in height. In this case it is not so much the width as the top of the tire is contacting the sway bar.

The question is WHERE do they rub? If its the UCA, sway bar or skid plate then its the WIDTH of the tires causing the rub, not the diameter.

I have the 6 inch procomp lift, i would like to lift it another inch or so to get rid of problem but dont really want to hassle with a body lift. The heat gun sounds like a good idea though.

It actually depends on the 37's you choose, some run bigger than 37 and some run smaller. The ones that run bigger will for sure give a 6" lift problems and I believe it will take more than a heat gun and pliers. I've done a couple experiments with lift on lift and I'm not sure if a 2" coil pacer will work with a ProComp 6" but it might be worth looking into. If it does look into a Deaver 2" rear leaf set up to level it.New Products Just a thought.

whats the biggest tire you can put on a 2008 tundra stock with no issues? 31 inches? just curious... how much of a lift do you need to have zero issues with 35's.
