Overlander build.

I'm in the process of putting together an overlander Tundra. I recently put on a snug top xtravision shell with rails on top and 2.5" front level kit. Waiting for weather to break to install a new Warn VR 10,000 synthetic winch with Pro link, Aluminess front bumper with guards and rear, Edgestar 63 qt fridge/freezer, Ram X mount for ipad and Garmin Glo, National luna power pack dual battery set up. I'm open to ideas if you have them!

In the works researching:

Replace 20 in rims with 17s for more sidewall.
Arb compressor.
Roof rack for shell.
Roof top tent. Tepui, Cascadia or Eezi awn.
Rock sliders.
Ham 2 meter radio
47 gal fuel tank

Sweet - I wish Toyota would have put a bigger gas tank. Other than that mine works well. Love my RTT and sliders have saved me some damage.

Soooo 17's... Good luck!

But sounds like you are in the right direction!

I'd go with Cascadia. I like the materials used and quick response time. I don't even own one or have even come close to owning one YET and they responded rather quickly to all my questions. They are also US Based out of Bend, OR

Im curious about this. Is the shell/roof rack you got gonna support the weight of the RTT? Or I guess a better question is: what is the weight rating for that combo? That would be a great way to mount an RTT, but I've always been concerned about load capacity with a shell.

Transfer flow has a direct fit replacement 47 gallon tank that only hangs about an inch lower than the oem tank. Its a bit pricey at like 1100.00, but I guess it depends on how much you need the extra capacity.

Yeah the price of the tank isn't worth it and any lower isn't good. Just not worth it. I am building spots for extra gas cans but it would have been nice to have a 35 gallon tank.

Nice heads up on the roof top tents!! I'd just put one one a trailer, with a quad underneath, and keep all the space in and on top of the truck shell/canopy for all the gear etc. just put roof racks on the shell These tents are such a good idea.

Very cool! How you like it? Were you warm last weekend? What were the temps?

I really like the idea of an rtt, but I keep drooling over four wheel campers. Been going back and forth with myself for the last year!

It got down to about 30 and I had a cheap sleeping bag and a fleece blanket. Wore shorts and a t shirt sleeping. So it wasn't bad, the fabric is thick. Wish they had a full zip open roof for when its warmer. It does have both ends unzip and open up plus the two side windows.
