Not a good year for Toyota. They're also recalling over 100k 1st gen Tundras due to frame rust.

I have my stock Toyota mats, covered by a second full mat, which then has a smaller mat on top of that one. In 2 years have never had any type of problem!!!

It was a family member who made the call to 911. The fact that they had time to make this call speaks to the panic and terror they had time to endure before it was over. So not only did the driver not think of throwing it in neutral, no one else in the car thought of it either.

I had a mat get stuck on my pedal in an old Blazer and I was close to throwing it in neutral. It was one of the scariest things I ever encountered. Just before I was ready to blow the engine I looked down and saw what was going on and was able to recover. It was barely safe for me to look down because I was all-out acceleration. Just thinking about it gets me going, it was close.

do you know where these pedals are going? if we find out maybe you could hook up a group buy, and get some seriously discounted pedals.

Why are they not installing a BRAKE OVER RIDE SYSTEM (WHICH IS FAIL SAFE THAT 95% of German cars have) in our trucks like they will be doing to Lexus AND CAMRY LINES FROM 2007-2010?

Ours are more difficult to get stuck DUE TO HEIGHT OF PEDALS, but if they do and you tap brakes, brakes will not override accelerator.
That IS MY CONCERN and if you can't put it in neutral or turn ignition key, results will be same as the ES 350 family.

The new 2010 Tundras will have this in them from now on off the line!

IT IS NOT THE PEDAL OR SPRING GUYS!

Teach your loved ones how to pop it in neutral.

I see the TOYOTA B.S. between the lines and it is early start of CYA until they can get things fixed.
I don't understand why they don't want us TUNDRA owners to be safe and have brake override as well?

Yep. They must be a good 2.5" from the mats.

How in the hell will I ever be able to pull off a good power braking burnout!!!

Also, if everyone in that truck failed to think about shoving it in neutral or turning off the key, Darwin missed a golden opportunity to issue a group award.
