Toyota Tundra Diesel Dually Special Project Called CrewMaximus
![]() Motor Trend's Truck Trend Magazine had the opportunity to feature and showcase, the very popular Toyota Tundra dually diesel pickup truck that we blogged about from SEMA 2007. Packing an 8.0-liter turbo diesel inline-six cylinder engine that produces 305 horse power and 610 foot pounds of torque, Toyota has emphasized that this truck is not a concept and that it is truely a one-off project truck to fantasize about. . |

SEMA CrewMaximus
I saw that truck in person and it is quite impressive. There were a few reps from Toyota and Hino there and the showgoers were asking when, not if , this truck would be built.
It made quite an impression in the other diesel truck camps! Tony D

Hello,
I was in a dealership in Vero Beach,Fl with my '87 Toyota dually and the manager was telling me that they are coming out with a new dually in 2009.He asked me to bring my truck to the dealership toward the end of the year so he can get a picture of my truck alongside the new model. He said he was going to enlarge the picture and hang it in the showroom.I guess i will have to wait and see if he knew what he was talking about. If they do bring out a new one....i got the color picked out.... Thanks! |

This is great a website designed for all the guys who love Ford's but can't afford them. I spend more time signing up for this than its worth. Hey guys there this thing called girls. They are pretty cool and fun, you should meet them some time. Tundra's are nice toying but if your looking for a real truck find one thats been doing this for a while with a proven record. Maybe one that makes a commercial truck. Just a idea, also dont forget about thinking about talking to a girl. Thay dont have cooties, Buy a real truck and get a life. Oh yhea in 2007 the drive shaft where falling out of them its a national recall check it out, how about the cam shafts. Thats a great truck, keep up the great work.

That's a SWEET Truck!
I'm glad Toyota has gotten into and expanding the fullsize thruck market.
GETREAL- Look at my username. I get plenty 'o' trim. How's your POS powerjunk? That 6.0 workin out for ya or do you have 3 sets of new head gaskets in that and your V-10 too? My Tundra is the 6th truck I've owned in 6 years, all of them being domestic! Ford hasn't had a good product since the 6.9 then to the 7.3. Chevrolet? What a joke! they last untill 100K (gas motor) then you get nickel and dimed to DEATH! Diesel, 6.5Lt. right, yeah uh huh. Next the duracrap. Had two of them too. Nothing but problems. You got one? You replace that transfer case problem that GM won't admit to? How bout those injectors? NSBU switches? instrument cluster? Driveshaft problems that noone can fix? I'm not even gonna start with Dodge other than they have a great diesel that will rattle your baby teeth out. Tundra has had 30 cams in 30,000 motors fail. WOW! I don't know. You do the math on that? I got ya covered, it's .001% of ALL THERE MOTORS! And they are investigating it. Which means that Toyota will stand behind there product and fix what needs to be fixed! To recap for those that are on the fence, go to: Diesel Forum - The Diesel Stop.com and check out the forum. See for yourself all the questions about problems these trucks have. Then go to: Diesel Place - Duramax Diesel Discussion Forums and read the First, Second Thrid and Fourth generation Duramax problems those guys are having. Then come back here and read all about people talking about there MPG issues. |

MasterTrim- Good post with alot of info. That Getreal guy was a flash in the pan Troll that cut and pasted that post to about every thread he could find one night. Obviously he was tired of playing with himself so he played on his computer all nite. He's an idiot, probably some acne faced teenage virgin reject.

I have been to Iraq 3 times and we only use Ford Chevy and Dodge. That is the harshed enviroment I can ever think of. 120+ degrees and the fact that if your truck breaks down you will DIE. If its good enough to take care of me there then its earned my respect. When 9/11 happen how many Toyota's where donated to NY. NONE American Domestics donated over 150 vehicles including commercial vehicles, oh sorry Toyota does not make them. So whta a Toyota good for, looking good in a driveway I guess damn im wrong again a trailer park. So where does my loyaty lie with a TRUE american company. Why doesn't the Goverment own any Toyota's?? Well I know why the can't handle the abuse. What farmer uses a Toyota, please let me know if there is any. I live in TN and never see any Toy's at the farms. Why dont you go see where they are made, drive there and look at what the employees drive. I bought a 08 F250 Super Duty for the $28000.00 because my grandfather retired from Ford It was a $46000.00 dollar truck. What does Toyota do for there workers. So Mickey Kiss my Ass, Thanks to real men you have the right to speak freely. Take your ass to Japan. Only yuppies and loser's drive Toyota.

I went to BASS PRO shop and Toyota paid me $15.00 to test drive it and tell them what I thought. They had a trailer the with 10,000 pounds on it. I drove it and listened to the guy. Toyota does have some nice buttons but when I went to park I asked him to drive the one with 10,000 pounds on it. He was joking around about it. But I told him I was serious and wanted to drive it then hook the trailer up to my 08 super duty and see what truck was better. He was pretty pissed when he saw my truck. So toyota has to pay people to drive thier trucks, that somthing new. It drives like a car somthing a chick would drive. Thanks for the $15.00.

You know why you paid 28k? Because nobody in their right mind would pay 46k for a piece of crap FORD. You know why they give employees a discount? Because they built them and know how crappy they actually are. If you drive a FORD its because you are to scared to buy a TUNDRA and realize how good it is. I'm sure you'll have something else to say, because thats what most people that are disappointed with FORDs do, they talk about how terrible everything else is. TUNDRA owners just drive with a smile on their face because they know they are driving the best truck on the road. |
