Being an ex F150 owner it cracks me up to watch the extremely loyal big 3 owners point out recalls on the Toyota. Well, I had plenty of recalls owning a Ford, and I can't imagine what GM and Dodge have done. Toyota is supposed to obviously have a better track record and reputation, but it just shows every company has problems occasionally. This is what happens when you up your production on the scale they took on...it happens.

It was my impression that the most serious defects from the 07 were very specific batches of Camshafts and they were very early on in production and all traced to 1 batch.

Honestly, only had it for a month and right now I would say no. If I could get rid of it without taking a loss and go back to Dodge then I would without blinking.
189 miles and the CEL light comes on and now some 1500 miles later and 4 trips back to the dealer they think they might have found the problem with the charcoal cannister. Plus all of the paint & rust issues doesn't bode well for the truck living in the North East

Thats just a couple comments that you owners have written. Why did car and driver rank it as 3rd place???
It must be distrubing to see the Tacoma going through all these problems with the frames and wondering is your truck going to be OK in 4 years. But hey it Motor Trends Truck of the Year, wait wasn't the Tacoma
also. Good job guys have fun with your trucks and remeber be easy with them they are fragile as the truth is showing!!!! 08CMAX dont cry!!!
Should I quote all the positive comments on this site? Also isnt car and driver second rate to motor trend? Dont cry? This is an internet forum with intelligent discussion and sharing of information pertaining to the Tundra.....why would I cry? I'm not emotionally defending (or attacking) the Tundra I'm sharing and searching for facts (and havin a lil fun with my Tundra brothers.

Ask DEZ how fragile the Tundra is...... ; )

Denutto knows how much I hammer on my truck! The only thing I've ever had problems with was the alignment one time.

But on a serious note my brother owns a towing company and I bet he will give you guys great rates to pick up your Tundra's with a FORD or Chevy wrecker. Sorry about your luck, should have done your homework. I will leave you with this thought, If the tailgate is failing its only a matter of time before the frame does. Mickey I will be waiting for your ignorant comments, try to put some thought in it, and you thought your head liner falling down was a problem.
So what are you driving now man and how's it treatin you?

If Truck Trend wouldnt have said a Tundra can out perform a HD I wouldn't even give a da** about it. I just think its funny how I can tow 3 Tundras if not more and you can only tow one Superduty. Yhea they are heavy only just under 8,000 lbs. All im saying is instead of making those cool videos of Tundra's pulling around domestics they should have been working or a Truck that the tailgate does NOT fall off of. Or just doen't buckle under the weight. The transmission is anther story. Hey enjoy your truck, your paying for it. The truth is coming out!!!
Bummer about the fuel tank! My truck is performing flawlessly and I hammer on it, use the crap out of the tailgate, and tow with it! I couldn't be happier man! Show me a pic of your truck towing 3 Tundras or something of the same weight and I'll believe that bro! Glad your happy with your new truck!

A tailgate has nothing to do with a frame...FYI. and ask your tow truck brother how many toyotas he has to haul due to a breakdown ; ) If i was gonna haul cars and trucks with a tow truck it would be a heavy duty 1 ton...not a 1/2 ton like a Tundra. Gotta put some thoughts into your comments....."think then speak."

are you stupid, that was the point being made. You (toyota) dont have a 3/4 or 1ton truck. Think waht ever you want smart guy. The frame comment was in reference to Tacoma's new problems. If Toyota can make a tailgate to take the dailey beating then how do you think the rest of the truck is??? Do you know how to read, want some pictures??? Damn and im trying to be nice

Trying to be nice by calling people stupid, etc? geez you may wonder why you dont have many friends (if thats the case). So by your analogy there are some who hve complained about the paint on this site....since Toyota made it I better question the quality of the whole truck.heck maybe toyotas whole line...or maybe even their stock! Darwin awards where not handed out when I received my Doctorate. What did they hand out when you received yours? ; )
