Nicole that site is somewhat bias to me. Also I'm one of your (was) die hard Chevy fan. I had an 06 Silverado LT3 Ext Cab. It was definitely loaded with things you like and issues you don't like. Headliner replaced 8x. Both taillights fell off going down I-95. Brakes twice and I needed to go again. Went to arbitration by lemon law and lost. Chevy was suppose to replace the truck when headliner came down again. They refused and was told I won't get one no matter how many times it comes down. Well lost me forever on that note. Not to mention they wanted to know how many GM vehicles I had. Got tired of the fight and left. Lucked out in this 07 Crewmax Limited Nautical Blue. Here's a pic of the famous headliner.

Kinda scary to say but Mickey has somthing here, GM sucks. I had a 02 Serria with no problems then traded it for a 04 Serria Z-71 Ext cab and had the transmission replaced twice. The first time I went to the dealership and said I had to put a quart and a half of tranny fluid to make it there can someone look at it with 7,000 miles on it. They made me a appointment for the following day. I asked if it was alright to drive and without anyone ever looking at it they said yhea. Well after burning up that tranny due to fluid coming out faster than you can put in (left a puddle in the dealership lot and said it was ok to drive). After that transmission replacement 5,000 miles later the front pump went out. So 2 transmissions later I felt I had engough. But wait it gets better bought my wife a 06 uplander. Keep complaining about popping in the steering colum. After a new front end it started doing it a month later. They said it needed it needed replaced again. Went to anther dealer to look at it and they lubed the steering colunm bearing funny how that fixed it. When the whole lighting system started strobeing, yhea like those pretty lights on police cars they couldnt figure out what it was. 5 trips to the dealership and that was enough. I will NEVER own a GM product again.

Converted GMC owner here! HAd a 01 Sierra HD with 8.1L / Allison Crew Cab SLT. It was lifted 6" with 35s and 18"s. Loved that truck BUT:
1. for that displacement it should have beem quicker..it would pull my mastercraft no problem but accelerated soooo sloooow wether attached to boat or not!
2. depreciated so bad i had to roll its poor value into my BMW loan (and that freakin car is another story)

Needless to say the tundra kicks that 3/4 ton's a** without blinking an eye!

Nothing can be perfect. But I find that selling Toyota's to GM owners isn't a simple matter, but sometimes it is. The tundra is a great truck and all my customers are very happy with them. I belive in the Toyota product and I'm very happy to sell them

We have been down this road about 1/2 ton verse 3/4 ton. They are not the same. Put about 1500 lbs in the bed of the Toy and then your at the curb weight of a HD. Wait thats the Toys whole payload. You can still put 2000 lbs in the bed of a HD. But now thers a issue about Conventional towing capacity. 10,500 for Toy, and roughly anywhere from 15,000 to 16,000 for a HD. Put that in a Toy with out breaking it. Thats on 4,500 to 5,500 more capacity than a Toy just in a 3/4 ton. Im not putting down a Toy just stating the facts. If I was putting down a Toy I would say hows the rust going, Cant get your truck to idile, Rear diff leaking, oil dripping from eng, buckling a tailgate loading a ATV, radio wont work, check eng light keeps coming on, Engine code P0441 and P0455, paint problems, blown cylinder, rumble strip in a Tq converter, AC stopped working, headlights wont turn off, theres so many more I CANT EVEN LIST. So why doesnt every one worry about your POS and try to get Toy to fix them to give the Domestics a run for there money. This website is the comedy releif we have found during work. Oh consumer reports ranked Tundra a much worse than others for reliablity. Oh yhea before you BAN me the Admin cant even post the correct HP and TQ ratings on the opening page for the others. Any truck you have to lie about to sell must be a a good one. Good job guys keep the comedy going. I will look out for bumpers falling off and oil leaks when i get around a tundra. Usally its when I pass them in a blink of a eye.

Heres our two biggest eye catching forum's yet: Think I got a LEMON! and I'm sick of this truck!!! Trading it in Today!
Denutto had you peg from the begining when you sat idle for 20 minutes waiting for Dez or myself to reply. Now you want to list everyone who had a problem with a vehicle on this tread. You know the saying stay in your backyard. We can do the same with comedy central chevy and along with SNL Ford. See you know you come on here just to cause hate and discontent. All you succeeded in doing is making your point worthless. The funny thing you mention bumpers falling off huhh Let me see I mention this in another tread that YES That my Chevy couldn't keep it's tail lights on...Man that's only 2 screws holding it. Denutto this is exactly what I'm telling you that all manufacturers have their issues and there is NO PERFECT TRUCK. You know if you went through the same situations as I did you wouldn't be behind Chevy.
Also that blink of an eye is actually you are crying because I left you in the dust in a Tundra.

What makes a perfect saleman is the knowledge of the product you're selling, believing in your product, and then your product will sell itself. I'm sorry I was a Navy recruiter for 3 years 89-92. My problem was I didn't quite believe in my product.

Your right and Im so wrong. Got to get the tears out of my eyes. You caught the tater tote. Im so envious of you guys. Your a idoit did you read the post above I dont like GM. Falling off tail light they couldnt keep a tranny in it which on is worse. I was agreeing with you all, there is not one great truck and by no means would it be the TUNDRA (T100 version 2). You say Im here to cause hate and discontent. Look at 08CMAX who is a moron "Needless to say the tundra kicks that 3/4 ton's a** without blinking an eye!". Really where the test results. Ever seen a 3/4 4X4 diesel run low 12 on the 1/4 mile with the banks system and thats it, no turned up fuel pump, oversized injector or anything. Better yet match the 3/4 tons curb weight and you try it. Wait thats 7,864lbs topped of with fuel. Whats the Tundra's curb weight 5,500lbs so you couldnt even match a 3/4's curb weight. If 3/4 tons are so bad do the Toyota test and hook a bumper with it. We all know the outcome. The Tundra will follow it like a whipped dog. All im asking for is the facts. Dont get stupid about it. I have seen legitment questions asked but because you suspect the guy is a Ford, Chevy or Dodge guy you get all defenseive. Why do you need the retorques?? No body can answer it. And Mickey look at all the cotter pins on you front A arm (its under the front of your car has a spindle and some ball joints on it) last time I checked that isnt a aircraft or NASCAR. Your right I cry I cry hard from laughing every time I see anther dumbass driving a Tundra. So let me guess your all going to have your feelings hurt and BAN me. But hey what does consumer reports know and all other relibilty mags. 07 ranked much worse than others for relibility and one even said STAY AWAY FROM 07 4X4 5.7. So produce some facts... Can you???

No, I Say Do Not Ban This DENUTTLESS Guy, I think we're all used to his "chip on the shoulder" "crybaby" BS and in my opinion it's becoming rather entertaining. It's obvious what kinda moron were dealing with here, a guy that runs in and gets on the internet in between cleaning out the jobsite porta potties as their dropped off at the yard. Denuttless bro back away from the computer man your repetitious babble is making you look bad or have you already figured that out and are just letting it rip anyway. Hey bro, I lifted my 2007 5.7 Tundra truck , changed the gears, and romp in the desert with it and still have zero problems. Keep it up DENUTTLESS I can't wait for the next issue of "The Chip on the Shoulder Daily". Bring it on Nucklehead!

Facts:

(1) I have a 4x4 5.7 and I like it. (2)When the time comes that I don't like it as much as something else, I'll buy something else. (3)I've already dumped 2 Fords, 1 Chevy, 1 Nissan, and 1 Jeep - all before they were paid-off; just because they pissed me-off. (4)It's none of your business what I drive. (5) It's none of my business to worry about what puts your panties in a wad (6)This is a forum for Tundra owners /Tundra-curious. (7)constructive criticism has its place. (8) Hostile ranting from non-owners reflects on its source and is best redirected to affirmative statements on an appropriate site.

Isn't that we suspect what maker the person has my friend it's the way you come out with it. From the start guy no feelings hurt here. I consider the source. My friend cotter pins have been on ball joints and wheel bearings probably before you were born. I gave you credit thinking you knew this like myself but my wrong in giving you any credit what so ever. Have you heard of McDonalds? I'm sure you must have had a coffee. But as usual you read what you want. When you rotate your tires and tighten your lug nuts do you check them a 100 miles later to see if they are still tight? By the way who cares what you like. As usual you read just the part you wanted out of Consumer Reports. Ooh yeahh who wrote who a pm for a truce? When you decide to come out of your ignorance then we may have an intelligent conversation. Highly unlikely but who knows?
