I've had 2 Fords, a Chevy Cobalt, a Mazda B2600, a Jeep (still have it, and pushing 200,000+ miles). I traded the Chevy Cobalt POS in on my 2008 Toyota Tundra and haven't even thought back on that POS chevy. The 2 fords I had were marginal at best. The '84 Ford Ranger was great up until the local Ford Garage screwed up the original carburetor, it was all downhill after that as I couldn't find the right replacement carb for it. I also had a 1993 Ford Tempo, great car in the summer not so much in the winter, snow and ice and that car didn't work together at all. Then the transmission started leaking so bad on it that I finally had to get rid of it. Traded it in on the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 4.0L I6. Very few issues with it other than normal routine maintenance and normal wearing out of parts. Still runs great, offroads great even bone stock. So now I've got the Jeep and my 2008 Toyota Tundra and I think the Jeep is going to pass the 200,000 mile mark and keep going. The Tundra I'm sure will get there, but right now it only has a little over 5500 miles on it. After my experience with this truck and the dealership I went through (Tom Scott Motors, Nampa Idaho) I will deal with them again in the future.

Maybe one that makes a commercial truck. Just a idea, also dont forget about thinking about talking to a girl. Thay dont have cooties, Buy a real truck and get a life. Oh yhea in 2007 the drive shaft where falling out of them its a national recall check it out, how about the cam shafts. Thats a great truck, keep up the great work.
Now that I'm familiar with your dumb-ass name I'll know not to read any of the crap you write when I come across it. Those sound like the words of a frustrated Ford owner. Oh and you talkin about girls all the time, those sound like the words of a lonley man who is "MASTER OF HIS DOMAIN" if you know what I mean SPANKY. Good luck with your Fords bro. I don't think there is anything to worry about in the future as this guy WILL be BANNED for sure. Thanks Admin!

Oh sh"t! You beat me to it deznutjob! Thats exactly what I was thinkin! I gotta friend who is a Ford master mechanic....he always likes to say "yeah but Ford has been the #1 selling truck for over 30 years!" I always reply with "Mcdonalds has had the best selling burger for over 50 years...doesnt make it the best!" Ford has clever marketing to be "tough" but ask just about anyone and you will find confidence is way behind Toyota. That confidence is called reputation. Would you rather drive a Tundra or F series truck...heck any Ford product round trip across country? How bout at 100,000 miles takin a trip through death valley? I think he knows the answer! : )

As a smart consumer purchasing a vehicle there are at least two things I'm looking for. That is reliability and resale value. If a Ford owner thinks he gets that out of his vehicle he better read the print.

maybe someone here can answer this. Has anyone read their owner manual?? No I mean really sat down and read it??? I hope this is a typeo!!!

Under the Maintenance Interval it says to “TIGHTEN THE CHASSIS MOUNT BOLTS” and “RE-TORQUE PROPELLER SHAFT BOLT” every 5,000 miles under towing conditions. And every 15,000 miles if you drive normal. They SHOULD not loosen. Maybe its the wrong bolts or need stronger bolts. This could indicate the is not as strong as advertised.
At 30,000 you need to replace the SPARK PLUGS no matter if your towing or not. That isnt going to be cover under the warrenty, it aint cheap. At 60,000 it recommends the “INSPECT THE ENGINE VALVE CLEARENCE” if you have been towing. This is the recommended maintenance so it is not cover under the warrenty (warrenty just expired). Doing a valve job is not CHEAP. With shop rates at $50 to $70 dollars a hour theres a couple hundred dollars. If they dont have to remove the head!!!

They dont tell us this on the commercials. Hope you have a torque wrench and some skill or a deep wallet!!!!

If you know anything please let me know!!!

Hey smart guy straight out of your owners manual (the book that came with your truck)!!!!! Any clue on any of this?? No I mean really sat down and read it???

Nice lift how much did that cut your towing capacity?? You are so quick to bash other people and maunufactures when you dont even know what you have. Good job! Nice truck it will look good in a garage making sure that the Chassis isnt going to fall off and your drive shaft will be there in 5,000 miles. While your waiting in the waiting room look out the window at the other manufactures driving by. The funny thing is I WONT be there with you. Enjoy your Nice pretty shine new truck but dont forget to do your TORQUE CHECKS. If your doing a cross country trip take a torque wrench and the tech manual you will proably need it more than any FORD guy. Reliability is that you do a valve job every 60,000 miles and they talk about a tapping noise even the engineer who design this thing could not even be able to listen to it and tell you "Yes im 100% sure your valve dont need the gap checked".

You better buy AAA your gonna need it BUDDY.
Speechless hu? Dont even try with the recalls. If you only make 30,000 trucks a year and only 150 are feed up enough to make a stink about it then they (NHTSA) will issue a recall. The other people dont even care and deal with it. So you could be drive around with stuff broke and you could even know it. Have you asked to see if you even have a warrenty since you did all these mods?? $35,000 or more truck and you proably dont that smart!!!

Didnt mean to ruin you day but heres somthing to think about. The small fine print gets you. Should have done your research. Enjoy your truck!!!

It sure took you long enough to write this. I've been waiting 10 minutes for this kind of reply. Don't pass on the crap about recalls, guy your domestics have same issues with recalls. But since you know it all then there was no telling you this. As far as warranty my friend I'm covered which is more than I can say for you. I'm very happy you can read a manual online. Do you know anything about maintenance? I guess it's easy to find something on another manufacturer and throw it out there. You're not happy with your domestic that's not my problem guy. I chose what I wanted. As much as you hate the Tundra there are just as much people out there that like it. I've been through your domestics pal and that's your problem not mine. If they was worth anything I would be that way. As everyone told you guy you need to get a life. So enjoy your Ford. I've been there and done that.

See i was doing my reseach because I like the Tundra and was gonna buy one until I came across all you asshole's who dont know what the hell your talking about. You give the Tundra a bad name. And I do know a thing about mechanics. I work on the commerical aircraft you fly on with a degree in aeronautical science. So yhea I know alittle about mechanics like a bolt should NOT come loose. A retorque to stabilize is one thing but to have to do multi retorque's is bogus. So has the owner manual changed or not. No Body seems to know.
