I'd love to see the Landcruisers diesel move to these trucks, from what I've read that engine is very solid... just not sure on the performance numbers moving the weight of the Tundra.

Can't we just throw a Hino in there? In sure with a few mods it could work. Tranny and frame won't be worth a poop but it would be saweeeeet

I traded in my 06 cummins for my tundra and I love the tundra but man are there times that I miss the nasty torque my truck was making....efi live, injectors, much larger turbo, triple disk...blah, blah, blah

To bad the "dodge" part of the truck was a money pit.

If yota could put out a 400 hp 650-700 tq 3/4 ton I would be all over it...even though you can't program the yota computers like I could in my dodge. If it came from factory with those numbers it would make for a VERY reliable daily driver tow vehicle...since you can't put tunes in them it would last a very long time and be solid.

Oh an 8 speed trans would be nice too for better fuel economy.

Just a thought.

if a diesel tundra would become available, i'd seriously consider it..!!

You guys have way more options, we just bought a new landcruiser for my wife last year I would have spent more for a diesel option easily, the 5.7 is plenty of power but the damn thing gets 13 mpg combined.

Take this as nicely as possible....

You have a Landcruiser, you don't get to comment. Lost that right when you left the dealer lot, sorry.

"damn thing gets 13 MPG combined." - waaaaaaaawaaaaaaa!!!!

(spawned from LC jealousy really)

Lol, I would love it, if I got to drive it more. I only drive it when my whole family is going out or when it needs service (because of course my wife believers it is illegal for women to take a car in for service). I am just waiting until she has had it long enough to not get pissed if I take it out for some real offroading.

I would love to see Toyota produce a 3/4 ton diesel.
