Bonus image: I went on a skiing trip yesterday, these work great in fresh snow, especially on the range and township roads outside city limits where there is no regular snow plowing so it's just deep along with the new stuff.
Trying to figure out if having treads up the sidewall actually make any difference or if they just look cool after having collected snow on them.

That's awesome! Glad they did well for you. Thetundra will definitely get these tires. I love goodyears thanks for helping me out. I think the sidewalk will really help in the mud, I doubt they do anything in fresh snow, maybe deep heavy snow? Also what pressures were you running?

I am running exactly 50psi cold for now as I stated in my earlier post, I might try something marginally higher like 55 for starters and see how they work. I want the perfect balance of long-lasting tires but still having tread contact with the ground.

I just was not sure if you lowered psi for the snow, for better traction. Thanks for your contribution!

living in the mountains of WV I had the chance to try out the new duratracs. We recieved 26'' of fresh snow and this thing goes like a DOZER I had snow so deep on my hood I would have to stop and clear it so i could see out the window. I have the 295/65/18 and they dont rumb as long as you trim or bend the skid plate a little. I think Santa has a lift for me. I will try to put up a few pics . i love these tires and if I get atleast 40k out of them I would buy again. I drove to town on snow covered plowed roads in two wheel drive. they stop great to. I have people stop and look at them all the time

Any thoughts on these vs. the BFG TKOs? I had the BFGs on my last rig and loved them. The reason I ask is the price difference. Whenever I upgrade tires on my 4x4 vehicles, I buy an identical spare. I could buy 5 BFGs for the price of 4 Duratracs.

I looked into getting the BFGs, I got confused because not all of them had the mountain snowflake symbol while all of the Duratracs did, also the Duratracs had deeper treadblocks. Somehow reasoning led to the thought that 18/32" of tread might last longer or something like that. I picked these over the Silent Armors even with the price difference.

I think that really made the decision was that various dealers selling BFG tires were either ignoring me or being snarky or trying to convince me to get the Michelin LTX... which were the OEM tires I had at the time and sucked absolutely.

Owners of big, heavier trucks like diesels complain about sidewall flex, but I haven't noticed this in my Tundra DC. Never mind the stock wheels, they've officially been delegated to winter wheels...

Hey PDX I sent you an IM

I went to Discount Tire's website and looked up the tire size I wanted --275/70/18. Their website says that it has the mountain snowflake. I went and got a set of 5 at Discount Tire this evening. When I got home, I checked the sidewall. Just like you said, nothing. WTF!?

I have read a few reviews somewhere about the BFGR AT and they said that the tire preformed poorly in snow and mud terrain. Saying that since the grooves are small that snow can freeze/harden within the grooves and the tire provides almost no traction at all. After I read that I started looking at different tires and I stumbled on the Duratracs. There cheaper just alittle smaller and provide much more traction in snow and mud

The duratracs are a great tire.
I bought mine days after the truck arrived, and am pleased with the purchase. I got mine from Fountain Tire too, as they had stock.

Just ordered my Dura Tracs Yesterday. Got the 295/65/18. Got for $280 a tire at a local mom and pop tire shop here in town. They had the best price. I called the Goodyear tire shop they wanted over $350 each for the same tire. I'll get them in about a week.
