Prob has most to do with the countries legal restrictions and safety limits.

Just what we need....high profile 4x4 trucks going 140mph down the hwy!! Ever driven an old muscle car that would go that fast??? They start to lift and steering gets real loose because they have no down force and there is a ton of air rushing under the car. If they weren't so heavy they would fly..LOL. Oh well..............if my truck would go that fast I probably would try it once or twice and then a third time for good measure...he he he.

100 mph or greater in FL is reckless driving. Go directly to jail, bail, see a judge. No thanks. Worked all that out of my system over 20 years ago.
I can tell you this. For some real excitement, take a street bike,(not a cafe racer type), at least a 650cc, down a gravel road, fast as you dare. Over 80 mph, things begin to change. The gravel becomes a fluid, the bike a jet ski. Faster than 85mph, you can turn the handlebars all the way, either way, the bike will continue forward in a straight line. You can ride back and forth over that center hump of gravel like it's wave in the water. Just lean a little, the bike will respond. Don't use the front brake though, it will all end in tragedy.

Check the speed rating on your tires before you go much faster.

This is an important factor that I think is overlooked. I can say that I have'nt always abided by these though..

I Guess If Your Have Your 5.7 Tundra Chipped, Lowered And Run Speed Rated Tires, You Can Achieve Speeds Like The Supercharged Ford Lightnings And Srt-10 Rams (over 140mph) Without Problems.

Some of us would like the option to be able to upgrade the suspension, fit it with racing tires and rims and run it at the track. I'd like to take mine out to Bonneville during speed week and she what she'll do top end.

No ticket, and hopefully no wreck or killing someone, but if it happens it'll only be my truck and me who gets damaged or totalled.
