Is this is a good deal?

Purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra yesterday. The MSRP of the truck was $30,875. I paid $30,600 out the door with 0% APR.

In my opinion it's a pretty good deal.

By the way, this truck rocks.

well sounds like you got some discounts as well as the 0% apr ... so sounds like a decent deal to me

no real point in asking anyone on here if its a good deal because 1. if youre happy with what you paid, thats all that matters and 2. thee isnt anything you can do about it now

welcome to the tundra world

I debated as to post or not - but I know that I sure appreciated people posting what kind of deal they got before I purchased.

My 08 Crewmax had a sticker of about 37k (like 36710 I think ) and I got it for 30,314 (took the 3k rebate, but got 4.7% through Toyota).

Depending on how much tax tags and license cost for you - looks like you got a similar deal.

Yeiks every dealer is going to hate this post...

My SR5 double cab MSRP OTD price was 32k. I have been trying to buy one for 1.5 years now. 2 Weeks ago...

I paid 26.2K OTD 5.7L, I even made them eat the window tinting and serial number etching that they did to the vehicle and wanted me to pay for.

She said "Well we have to charge you more for the truck because of the window tinting glass etching etc..."
I said "well I guess I will go buy it from the other dealer...".
She said "you are killing me here on the price we have to make money too on the deal too..."
So I said "If the price is not where I need it to be there is no deal at all!"

Nothing makes me more crazy angry than dealers who think they can TOUCH a brand new vehicle and charge more for it. That would be like me selling you a brand new Television and putting anti-reflective coating on it and then charging you more for it w/out your permission.

I've noticed that it is fairly common for dealers to start throwing high margin dealer added options on to slow moving vehicles. It gives them a lot more room to move on the price - they can come down a lot more because there is a bunch of bloated overpriced shit that doesn't cost them much on the vehicle.

Good for you for making them eat it.

That's the way I used to do biz till I got sick of haggling. 15 years ago I met a "Fleet sales manager" at one of the biggest Toyota dealers in the country and we are now best friends. No hassles when I wanna buy a new vehicle and I always get a smokin deal!

I think a lot depends on location as well. I live in Utah and new 2wd trucks are very hard to find. The 4wd are alway's in demand in my area and you will pay a little more. I'm picking up an '08 Double Cab 4x4 SR5 for $32k OTD tomorow. It has the TRD package, JBL stereo, etc.

My 08 CM SR5 listed at $34,285. I got it for $25,980 (OTD was $27,300). It took me a while, and had to shop several dealerships but we got exactly what we wanted and I am happy with the price. Great truck so far. (2WD only, 5.7L, leather, thats about it)

It took a lot of work to get that price. I finally found a dealership that needed a sale before the end of the month, so they beat my best offer to that point. I literally shopped more than 10 dealerships. I am just glad I finally got it. I had two deal fall through before this one.
