I have a question about rebates

HI there

after so much shopping around and many hours I found the price that I was looking for. I ordered a silver SR5 4.7L DC w/: fog lights, sliding rear window, toyota guard, bed liner (wasnt included but convinced the salesman to added without any cost). Price was $24,400 out of the door with everything included, not even one dollar more. At first I negotiated an specific truck that was somewhere else but then they realized the truck was sold so they told me my truck should be coming in around the 1st week of march. I payed $200 (which will be substracted from the OTD price) to order the car and I have a form, with all the vehicle details, and exact price with charges, I used a $3500 rebate. Now, I dont know if this is a stupid question but what would happen if the rebates change for the next month (increase or decrease), would this affect my deal at all?

I just dont trust dealers at all, they always find ways to screw you over

We haven't closed the deal yet, once the truck gets to the dealer I will negotiate the financing part. I have never ordered a car before, it is always easier to pick one in the lot, is there a chance they will try to screw me over? any personal experiences?

I have been shopping around for almost an entire month, getting quotes, walking out of dealers, coming bk, and pushing the price down as much as posible.

My understanding is you only get the benefit of special financing or rebates at the time you take delivery of your vehicle. My vehicle took a week to locate/arrive from the factory and there was some concern that if it didn't arrive within the promotional period - at that time 0% for 60 months - I was SOL. I was really concerned because my vehicle was located at another dealer who hadn't received it from the factory. Turns out it arrived within the week. However, I probably would have walked if the offer changed to my detriment. In your case, if the rebate deal is sweetened, I would press for the better deal. What do you have to lose?
