Whats that about, we should be keeping our own oil and gas here, and refining it to use for ourselves.

The US imports more oil from Canada than any other country just as an FYI.

Nothing against Canada, As I stated above I said Arab countries. It seems that we bail them out of every war there involved in and build there nation up by dumping billions of dollars in there ugly countries and we still cant get any oil for a discount. Might as well just take it from them. Canada is ok, You can jst keep the French up there !! lol

Ok , We'll seperate you from the rest of the French that hates America then . lol. I dont understand why though ??? It was the United States that liberated France, If it wasnt for us they would be speakin German over there. Ahhhhhh, How othre countries hate us over here . lol. I have to say though, I do go hiking in waterton national park every july and most of the Canadiens up there are extremely nice. And what a beautiful place tro live. I would have to say that British Columbia / Alberta is the most beautiful palce in the world hands down !!!

I cringed when I read your last post - and this one sort of does it for me too. Honestly, I don't think you will understand this, and it might cause hard feelings, but I want to counteract the ugly American vibe being generated, and possibly help someone who at least says that they want to understand.
Americans tend to think that they are the only (or at least most important) thing the world has ever seen. Statements like "we saved your ass" are at best misleading, and are very rude/assholeish/offensive for a lot of non Americans. Quote:

And what i said above was true but also humours on the same token, I under stand french Canadiens are different from France, I think you understood that when I made that comment Turnandburn, And knew it was in good humor, But smed, I dont think you did, And I'm defentely non rude or assholeish as you said But Like i said I'm a proud American And veteran of the greatest nation in the world, Now thats not being assholish , Thats me being proud of my country as you should be as yours. at any rate, at least we have one thing in common, I guess we can agree on toyota's for now !!!

With the 4th of July right around the corner...Does anyone remember which country helped US gain our independence? I think we may be even in the “ass-saving” category…

Ok, so you should have realized that the last comment i made was not a shot at you, just stating some facts that probably most america didn't know. Im the farthest thing from being french as well. The french population of canada is probably about 1/4 of the whole population, something elts that most don't know. Americans that i know and talk to seem to think that everyone in canada is french. Americans were not the only one in France during the war, they didn't do it all by themselves you know And ya im am a very proud Canadian. Judging from recent posts made by smed, i don't think he lives in canada. ![]()

Just spoke with a friend of mine who works on a drilling rig in Eastern Montana, my home state. They are drilling in the Bakken formation and there is supposed to be 3 to 4 billion recoverable barrels of oil there. That's the conservative estimate. Other estimates put it at 40 billion barrels. That's bigger than Prudhoe Bay by a long shot. They are using horizontal drilling along with fracturing the rock formations to get at the oil. The biggest area of this formation is in Montana and it is called the Elm Coulee Field. This area has produced since 2000 and has increased dramatically in the last year. They are expecting to recover 270 million barrels from this site with a daily production of 53,000 barrels per/day. My friend is making money like crazy working the rigs out there.
