And about gun laws and things of that nature, I own a few weapons. 2 handguns and 1 AR-15. I also live in New Jersey where you practically have to be a saint to own a gun and where it takes 6-8 months just to obtain a permit to own a gun.....THEN, you have to apply once again just own a handgun. I dont think laws can get more strick than that. For everyone else who lives in states where all you need is a drivers license and an instant background check, move to New Jersey and feel what its like here. I just can't see a president changing laws that would really affect me. I had to even order my AR-15 to be legal in NJ. No bayonet lug (whens the last time someone was killed with a bayonet), pinned the collapsable stock so it can't move (retarded) and I can only own 10 round mags that make the gun look funny as hell. I can't see it being worse than that. Even though I am law enforcement, I had to have that stuff done! It can't get any worse.

One thing we should all be aware of is that economies are cyclical. Always have been and always will be. I also think it is alittle harsh to blame W for the reasons the economy is stalled because there are so many contributing factors. For one (probably the most publicized) is the housing crisis and the resulting credit crunch. This was caused by people making poor financial decisions and getting into debt that they could not afford, along with lenders trying to generate fee income by originating loans without requiring sufficient repayment capacity or downpayment. Essentially they were lending today to tomorrows borrowers (before they could afford it). I don't think Bush had anything to do with that...nor did any democrat. Many government reports also cite declining house values as a reason for increased foreclosures. I don't think Bush had anything to do with the real estate bubble bursting...nor did any democrat.
Several people have commented on the need to change from Bush's policies because they are concerned with the economy. I remember when the congress passed a bipartisan economic stimulus package several months ago. And if I remember correctly, one of the major sticking points in the bill negotiations was the democrats' wanted to provide more money to people who don't pay taxes. I don't believe the congress or the president are going to do anything more to improve this economy. Unless they come up with a mortgage bail out. And frankly, I don't think they should, we are a capitalist free market society and things get screwed up when the government gets involved.
I need to keep as much of my hard earned money as possible.
While I do agree with you on some points , there is the fact that Bush has continued supporting the big Corp's with Tax breaks , and the war that is still skyrocketing in price , the billion dollar embassy we are building in Iraq . Those are under his control . He also controls the fed which also has some control and responsibility for the falling dollar , not all has to do with the credit or housing crisis .
Don't forget that the Bush administration also held meetings with the big oil companies , Natural gas , and Electric and utility companies in private and asked them to help make an energy policy for us . Those meetings and the minutes of them have not been released for 7 yrs. , they cite confidentiality.
That an Administration would ask these companies to help shape policy is pretty sad .
I trust Mccain's moral compass and his experience. I don't like his association with Bush, but I think it is out of necessity, not desire.
I think that Obama has very little going on, but a slick tongue and a realization that many believe GW Bush is one of the worst humans ever to set foot in the white house. He is leveraging that mercilessly. Change does appeal to me, but I don't think Obama can actually bring it with his only weapon being his silver tongue.
Anyway - between the 2, Mccain gets my vote. I'm just glad Hillary isn't still in the running.
... BTW, I think this is a great discussion. I love hearing other people's views. It broadens the mind.
I agree, while others here rather suppress peoples concerns.
That things go the wrong way you can see every time you come to a fuel pump!
But with Obama we are on the way into a socialistic country and this will make things for everyone on the long run worse.
My concerns are:
1. Energy cost.
Clinton signed the executive order not to drill in Onmar and/or FL/CA cost.
We have huge oil reserves, why not tap them instead of making counties rich who hate us! Nuclear power plants have to be built to make electric heating and driving affordable. Sun rich places where you have large open spaces should get more into solar and solar steam. There is a lot we did not do since the last oil crises.
2. Health care. Well if you look for corruption and mismanagement, here you really get to find a milking of the people.
Here in Maine we have the 2nd highest health care cost of the nation.
3. Immigration >>> that’s where McCain sucks even more then Obama!
4. Civil / gun bans >>> I would like to see the Reagan NFA ban from 1986 lifted and a nationwide CCW.
Then I don't like some laws which where made in the name of the "War on drugs" and "War on Terror".
I think these laws should be put up for a vote by the people!
Question is, will congress work well with the one that gets voted in?
Time to deal with electric cars, hydrogen power and harnessing sun energy as it pertains to our houses and transportation. Gasoline WILL be around, but we also need alternatives A.S.A.P. Ethanol is a pipe dream I.M.H.O.
GM is bringing back electric car before it goes out of business.
Too many special interests (gas companies) for us to be driving electric cars in one year, which is VERY DO ABLE because the know how exists. It's the do it now that is lacking due to special interests.
I still love my tundra....but we do need alternatives.

I'm sorry but McCain just scares me... not only do I think that he's a little old to be starting a new highly stressful job but it makes me skin crawl when he talks about Iraq...
Watch this video. The guy later lists some of Obama's accomplishments in a blog but to not be able to come up with a single one is astonishing. None of them are worth a vote.

McCain has more Lobbyist on his campaign then anyone , what moral compass would that be ?
All McCain can talk about now is starting another war . How about the war on the economy , unemployment , and creating new jobs for americans and not sending our jobs to foriegn nations to appease them .
