For a grand, for what you are getting, I don't think you can go wrong. I paid 3x that for my Samsung that has identical features. Have friends who have Visio and haven't heard of any problems. If I had a grand to spend and wanted a nice 60" led lcd, I'd buy it.
[QUOTE=ice4me;939351]We have 3 of them and love them..no issues..wouldn't buy anything else right now other than Sony or Samsung but they couldn't compare with
Kewl do you think the picture quality is good for the price? I dont want to have buyers regret. Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Im hearing alot of good things about these vizios and they get great reviews. I looked at them in the store but im not sure if they were streaming hidef at the time.

As a second option, watch the papers for bundle deals (tv+bluray+3D glasses, etc.). Best buy has some good deals every once in a while. When they had a package deal on my t.v., crutchfield was also running the special. Rather than drive 5 minutes to BB to buy it, I ordered from crutchfield, with free delivery, and saved myself almost $300 in sales tax
Also, keep in mind that most retailers will price match or beat. You can use that as leverage, when you start talking to multiple retailers who are trying to sell the same thing.
I agree, i think panasonic has the best plasma picture. However, I've been burned before (pun) by plasma tvs and will never own another. After owning my 50" plasma 1080i for a little under 2 years, the sides of the screen were burned in. Was able to get a free replacement, and upgraded to a 52" lcd samsung 1080p... Sure, they say that "newer plasmas won't burn in", but I'm not buying it. Burn in and plasma go hand in hand.

I hear ya it almost sounds to good to be true. Ill probably buy the thing and post up my review was hoping somebody actually bought this one haha. Help me pull the trigger per say. Haha

I stick with Sony for my main LR TV. I know the price is high for Sony, I have never regretted paying for it though. I just replaced my 9 YO Sony Wega Plasma with the new KDL55HX850, killer picture, less than 1" thick, super light (my plasma was 97lbs!), all the Internet apps you can think of, love it!
However, for $1,000 bucks, you almost can't go wrong with the Visio
Overall Vizio makes good TV's at reasonable prices but they are not without issues for sure. If you research them you will see one of the frequent issues is having the HDMI connections all suddenly stop working. I currently own two Vizio's, a 37" LCD and a 50" Plasma. The LCD is probably 5-6 years old and about a year ago it suffered from the HDMI issue. Thankfully, that TV is in a spare room and is only really used by my son so hooking everything up with Component cables and RCA (for audio) was no big deal.
The Plasma we have probably had for at least 8 years and now when we turn it on the picture will flicker for about 45 seconds and then stabilize and everything is fine. That TV is in my bedroom so also not a really big deal since it is only about 45 seconds.
I have a 60" Sharp Aquos LED television in the living room and it is pretty bad ass. My recommendation though if you get an LED, no matter the brand, is to turn off all of the crap they have that is supposed to enhance motion quality and what not. With that crap on, if you watch a baseball or football game then you will actually see like a streaming tail behind the ball because the television is trying to do some bs to mess with the refresh rate. With all of the bs controls off the television does fine and you don't see that type of thing.

Ill be replacing a 60" sony lcd and i love it. It goin on 7 yrs. Old and the only reason im replacing it is so I can have a wall mount for the LR much cleaner look imo. I paid almost 5g it. The thing was out dated a year later. Yoh cant keep up with technology its impossible.

Yeah, Sony rocks. I got rid of my old one because of burn in (Plasma). I think LCD's are still prone to burn in too, just not as prone. I bought my old one for $2,700 open box & discontinued at Sears (it was $5k regular price new).
You could see the in-store demo screen every time you turned it off.......I ignored it for a long time.....
Be careful with the Black Friday deals.... alot of times the TV's are missing some features... they are made especially for Black Friday. Last year I went to Best Buy for a 55" Samsung LED, it had almost the same model number as the Samsung TV I had been looking at. Even the specs on Best Buys paper, and internet said it had the same specs as their regular everyday TV. When I went and stood in line for like 3 hours to get it, and brought it home I found out it was missing some important features. Only had 2 HDMI's instead of the 4 of the other TV, it was "wireless ready" but didn't come with the wireless adapter (additional 80.00 purchase if you wanted it), etc...
I got PO'd and took it back and worked out to where I could get another TV for a discount for my troubles and their misleading ad's. I ended up with a 60" Sharp Aquos LED
