Youngest daughter and her BF are gonna get engaged within the next four months and then get married a year after that. I have already been told I am paying for a big wedding.
As a matter of fact, my wife is taking off work tomorrow to spend with her and I imagine they are going to unofficially start looking for the cateres , dress, flowers etc.
Then the boy dropped a bombshell. He is moving out in two weeks. Not only is he moving out, he is renting a room from the Cougar he has been hitting for the last few months. My wife flipped shit over this and has been walking around in circles all night mumbling under her breath.
All of this shit is going to directly impact me in a negative way.
Nothing good is going to come out of any of this.
I am going to offer the future SIL 15K to elope in Vegas and tell him if he tells my daughter I am behind it, I will gut him like a fish.
FML.

Boy I'm glad I had four kids...I can't wait to call you for advice when they get older! Or, better yet, call you to remove a problem from my life! LOL
I like the Vegas bribe idea...that would probably work! I'd start lower though...maybe $10K would be enough...that gives you $5K to bribe the cougar to find a new cradle to rob!
Do not mention his name here. He spits on us and talks crap and you're directing people to him from our site? I don't think so. I know you're neutral and that's fine, but please do not mention him here.

Oh man! Sorry to hear this. Im pretty sure My future Father in law has been hinting at the same thing. SO I was laughing real hard at the end of the story.
I have a boat if he tells your daughter your plan...we can toss him in some body of water.JK
In all seriousness; goodluck

Yikes...I feel for you. I have 2 daughters 15 and 7. I'm dreading the day....
When a friend of mines daughter was getting married, I was trying to learn from the experience and asked him what the wedding budget was. He said..."I'll put it to you this way....when I told her the amount, SHE CRIED"

What ever happened too the good ol'days when two people just went to the courthouse and got hitched? It was good enough for my mom & dad. I had to go through the whole "big wedding"thing 15 years ago when i got married. I tried to talk sense into her and her mom.....but it was like talking to the wall.
My wife and I paid for our own wedding and honeymoon...it's been about 10 years ago, but I think we had about $7k or so in it. What's the big deal? Tell that boyfriend of hers to man up and foot the bill
Then you go buy that tv.
As far as your boy, I'm proud of that lil fella. Just as long as he knows that when he gets tired of her, she gonna cut him off...so don't claim his bedroom just yet, cuz he'll be back.
These are simple problems with simple solutions. I wish my hell was as easy as yours
