Wouldn't it be easier to have someone pick you up? Your only 50 minutes away from Riverside, CT.
That's like me flying from Logan to Manchester, NH. I'd spend more time waiting for departure and arriving, then actually driving that distance which is longer!

Spent 1/2 the day debugging a VME contoller in a ELMA chassis trying to find out why it couldn't communicate with the slave CCA module. In the process of probing vias, the problem went away on it's own and I spent the rest of the day validating the operation of the card.
I'll bet nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about here...

Hi Jack. One part was marginal and you gave it a shot of static while probing which welded it back up temporarily. Throw it in the temperature chamber and give it a few cycles.

Bad soldering on the second layer of the board. Good luck getting to that one

Can't say I've heard of static shock welding before.

How does solder get into the 2nd layer again?
A broken via perhaps, but this problem was identical for three individual CCAs.

This module has 22 layers and 1400+ terminations and I'm the only guy who knows how to fix it. The other 4 individuals either left the company or the directorate. Smart thinking on their behalf.
One guy went to the extreme of going off to the Bering Straits on assignment with a floating radar platform to get away from fixing this module!!
