Hey gents,,, this is gun related...

I've already written my Senators, Governor, and the Pres. I've already renewed my NRA subscription, and voted accordingly.

When I get pissed,,, I feel the need to express it. Here's my latest expression re. gun control... I've made this one for my truck,,,, making some in all white for friends and family. I was thinking about talking with my local gun shops and ranges to see if I could leave some there for them to hand out. Thought about asking the gun shops to sell them for $10 or so and donate the entire sum to the NRA. Just stuff rattling around in my head....

A box of ammo has almost doubled in price. WTF. The shooting ranges are empty as hell because no one wants to use up their ammo. This is some BS.

I don't go to gun ranges much but I am being told that now a lot of them check your ammo and several of them won't let you shoot reloads.

I never really thought much about it. I would buy in qty from a local store or Academy or wally world. Now you gotta be there when they put it out or you are SOL.

Yeah, .223 fmj isn't allowed at the range I normally go to. They think it's all m855 (steel core penetrating) so they won't allow it. They won't put a magnet to it to test it. You have to bring soft tips or buy their high priced cheap .223 soft tip ammo.

Finally got my bull barrel for my 10/22. 18" match grade stainless steel, looks nice but I haven't put rounds through it yet. The scope is a cheap BSA Classic that I got for free from another rimfire rifle I previously purchased (will probably replace that in time too).

Shouldn't the gun be under the bar, not on top?

The out door range I go to actually does allow reloads. As long as they are not steel tips.

I sneak in steel tips in there anyways. I save my empty .308 American Eagle boxes and put them in there. That way when they open my ammo case, they just see the boxes and know they are not steel tips. I have the non steel tips on the table scattered so when they come by for magnet test, it passes. I got bought a bunch of Winchester steel tips (white box) at a gun show for $10 a box. Of course I'm all out.

I should of stocked up more for my Sig .40 S&W hand gun though. I only have a box of 50 left and if some crap hits the fan, I'm SOL for sure.

The only range I have ever heard of restricting ammo in my area is the indoor one attached to the biggest gun dealer in the state. You can not bring in any outside ammo, you have to buy it from them before you enter the range. If you don't use it all and take it home, you can't bring it back with you, you'll have to buy more on your next trip. My brother and his wife shoot there, that is the only reason I know this. I keep trying to get them to join my club and use the outdoor unrestricted range.

My statement was about the indoor ranges around here which are primarily pistol ranges.
