New From Texas

I just bought an '04 Tundra to replace my THIRSTY '01 Chevy 2500HD. I went from 10mpg to 16mpg...not a big jump but enough to make a difference. Now I'm trying to figure out ways to save even more. Love the Tundra so far though. It's our second, my wife drives an '04 Sienna, which we love.

Yeah, I love this truck. Absolutely love it. I don't have any special mods or anything else yet...but the possibilities are endless it seems.
I just bought it in February and had to drive nearly 4 hrs to get it. I searched San Antonio but these lousy dealers are WAY too proud of their vehicles. So I found one on Autotrader in Galveston and drove down and picked it up sight unseen, outside of the 6 pics in the ad. It's only got like 45k miles on it. The previous owner lived on the island and appears he rarely left it...less than a thousand miles a month. The only issue was the salt...but the dealership did a super job of cleaning it up and resealing it; so hopefully it will hold up. I'll take some pics of it, but it's nothing special.
I lied the previous owner had some pretty gaudy WIDE, not low profile, rims on it and big fat tires...but when I replace the tires I'll replace the rims too..the salt wasn't kind to the chrome.

Badge

The badge is AF. I was Air Traffic Control when I was active duty. We got the badge over special duty pay. What a great trade! I'd much rather wear a little silver thing than have a couple hundred extra in pay any day.....

Congrats on choosing the badge vice money. When I was in the Navy I did a similar job to what you did. Instead of aircraft we did surface ships. Now we did control an aircraft to visual identify the surface ships.
