As I said...I was excited to get 18.5 It was the highest I have ever seen. The last time I reset my mpg I only drove city, and it was around 11 mpg....no really...11. So I wouldn't be upset if you are getting 13-14, that is very common for me. It is just possible to get 18.5, I was excited to see it. I think it could even be higher with strictly hwy driving. We will see one day.

I do the math every fill up. Get 17 - 19 in town with a mix of stop and go and 45 mph open stretches. I have seen 22 on the highway, usually 20. Towing a 5k lbs boat gets me 11-12 at 60 mph. Might sound high, but that's what it is. Then again I have a basic truc w/ no options so the truck might be a bit lighter.

do the math.....i was using the onboard mpg too..then after a long trip to Bristol, Tn. i did the math with miles vs. galllons. the onboard was showing @ 17-17.6. mpg. the actual figures went to 19.7 mpg when doing the math on paper. just a fyi

p.s. this was driving from 65mph to 85 mph.

I guess I need to calculate myself and see whats going on. My next fill up I will check and see if the gauge is wrong. i did talk to my dealer and he said 15 was average for around here. Lots of mountains and i live abot a mile and a half from work.

Don't expect anything above 17 unless you are going to drive around 60 - 65 mph the entire tank on flat straight roads. I live in florida and have been trying different speeds and much over 65 and the mpg drops fast. This is with a completely empty 5.7 dc 4x2 longbed.

My 08 is only getting about 260 miles from full to 1/4 tank I havent done the math but i bet it equals shitty gas mielage, but I only have 711 miles on it so we will see if it gets better with more miles on it.. Driving it to San Diego monday..

I just bought my 08 Tundra DC 4X4 5.7L and at first gas mileage was around 14mpg but I was doin more round town city driving. But after 5 days and about 800 miles later I am getting an ave mpg of 15.1 and I have not reset it yet. When doing the math on paper from the dealership filllup when I bought it I calculated 16.2 mpg so roughly 16.

Most of all, It all depends on your right foot and how many hills or mountains you drive on. Cause you can easily tweek about 17- 19 mpg consistently at 75 mph or even 80, on a fairly horizontal highway. You just have to get it up there and hope no dooshbags cut you off in the left lane and make you brake or let off the gas. If you drive it like you stole it or drive through a lot of mountainous terrain then your lookin at like 12 mpg . My 2 cents
