Thanks guys, glad to be here. Question time!!!

When I fill the tank from almost empty, it clicks off the pump early, I can then squeeze in 10 to 12 liters (2 - 3 gal) more. An example of this is the trip meter showed 0 KM left till empty and the low fuel light was on. Filled up and the pump stopped at 76 liters I then was able to put an extra 12 liters in to make it 88 liters, it's a 100 liter tank. Is the trip meter and low fuel light just a safety? What gives?

Yes it's a safety reserve type deal. I personally like it for the simple reason when the light comes on you are about 23 miles left on the trip meter and actually you have well over 50 miles left... Plenty of caution to get to that gas station. Great while you are on a road trip. My trip meter went 408 miles to go today when I filled up. My avg mpg was 20.1 and I put in 19 gallons.
