$1500 Mistake!!! - TundraTalk.net

So get this, I figured I would hook up my wife's 07 Sequoia with some DVD headrests. Its the least I could do since I've been sinking money into my DC. So I go on to Ebay and see some for 06-UP TOYOTA TUNDRA/08 SEQUOIA DVD PLAYER but it also says SYSTEM ALSO FIT ON 06,07 SEQUOIA/06-UP TUNDRAS. It only comes in beige or gray leather. So I say to myself, her Sequoia has gray leather, looks like I found what I needed and placed the order. Today I receive a box from UPS, and yep you guessed it, my DVD headrest and I was excited about putting them in her Toy. Only problem was when I placed the DVD Headrest on top of the seat I noticed they weren't the same color. So knowing my wife I knew these wouldn't work. Consequently as it turns out, they matched my truck perfectly.

So I came inside and searched the web and ordered some that WILL match her interior but only $1500 later.

So this evening I ended up installing them in the DC. They look great and the install was a piece of cake. i will post pictures tomorrow. Now I'm not saying that I don't want DVD Headrest in the DC, just not right now. I mean come on, I live on an island for the time being, not too many long trips going on here. By the time my kids get a movie started, I'd be saying "We're here!" Anyways, thanks for reading me vent...

Sorry to hear about your luck but look at it this way you all can have movie night in the sequioa or tundra.

Good Point, especially with they way gas prices are.

Instead of taking my kids to the movies, I'll take'em to the drive inn,

which happens to be in my driveway. Just hook up a trickle charger and I'm set!!!

How hard was it to install the DVD players? What did it cost you? I am thinking of doing the same after the hour ride from the coast w/my 17 month old screaming her head off. Also did your Tundra come with the park assist or did you install, if you installed how hard was it and what was the cost?

I found the DVD Headrests off Ebay from the seller accessories1234 for $1100.00. Below are the links I found from Sparks Toyota on how to install them. Overall the install was pretty easy. Now when you say park assist do you mean back-up camera & monitor? If so, I purchased that from Ebay from the same seller as well. I think I paid $500 for it and it came in as a set. The install was painless also. The instructions make it real easy.
