I'm officially a CrewMax Owner!!!

WHOO HOO! I put the $500 to reserve the truck that is coming from the Factory! Its a 2008 CrewMax TRD Black, black interior, bluetooth, JBL, Sunroof and floor mats!

I've wanted one of these since I saw the 2007 at the car show! I'm so stoked it isn't even funny! But, the truck won't be here until late this month or early June...

I did have one question though... I am such a Tundra stalker I actually rented one through Enterprise about a month ago. It was your baseline Double Cab. On my drive up to LA from SD it was VERY bouncy on the freeway! To the point that it was hard to have conversation on the phone! Can any of you CrewMax TRD owners let me know if the ride is like that? Please tell me it’s smoother! I test drove one a long time ago and it was fine… so I’m hoping it’s just the baseline that has the issue!

Thanks!

mine is not a TRD but i do have a crewmax SR5 with some options (not base model) .. before i got it lifted i did have a little bit of bed bounce, just depended upon the freeway.

i dont have any bed bounce any more .. maybe someone on here has found a solution that they can share with everyone

and welcome to the best forum!

Mine is Blk/Blk !

I just picked it up 4/28 and drove up the 405 with the bumper traffic and at those slower speeds you seem to hit those ripples in the freeway that shake the crap out of you. I think those ripples are caused by the stoping of billions of cars and trucks.

The sales guy told me that is the biggest thing people are complaining about. He said that its because the slabs they use for the freeway are spaced the same as the wheel base of the truck......

Welcome...I noticed it on the 405 as well at the 680 in San Jose in my CM. I dont know if it is less in a CM. It may be different from the difference in weight distribution due to the cab and/or the extra foot of bed space. I have a 6" Pro comp lift and still feel it but not that much in the cab...more looking in the rear view mirror and seeing the bed vertically going up and down. Gotta admit I was worried it would hit the cab. Dont worry...truck is worth it. There is a thread somewhere on this forum talking about stuffing a rag somewhere in the rear end to get rid of it and change the harmonics but you'll have to search.

Cool Thanks! If I remember correctly it was on the 5 somewhere around Disneyland... But I'm not totally positive... I was going up to Ventura and currently I can't remember what route I took! I'm sure it'll be different with the weight difference and all... I'm just going to be really bummed if it is because my heart is set on this and I really don't feel like throwing up every time I get on the freeway!

I was following my M3 as we were coming back from Costa Mesa and the muffler on my m3 was shakeing up and down real bad. I thought it would fall off. I don't think it's the slabs but it is harmonic.

Try a bicycle inner tube between the cab and bed.

I used one to make a "Floating Sub box" for my 15" Alpine. No rattling in my M3 anymore just my brain.

Nice to see another M3 owner getting a Tundra. Of course, both my M3 and Tundra are black exterior and black leather interior. Mine's a DC, vice your CM though.
