Just installed my TRD CAI

Thought Is was gonna be harder to install than it was. Jees, A monkey could of done it. Lol, I noticed an increase of power at higher rpms. Not as much as I thought, But it does sound pretty cool when you slam the gas, Kind of a growly sound to it. $ 350.00 out the door at A local toyota dealership in town. Hopefully I can save a little on some gas with this new toy.My question is,Has anyone noticed any increase in there mpg with the cai?

None here. We installed the TRD intake on my wife's 5.7L last year with ~30k miles on the truck. Since then, she has logged more than 40k additional miles and the fuel consumption hasn't changed at all. 95% of her driving is on the interstate @ 70mph.

Since she passed the 20k mark, her fuel mileage hasn't varied more than 1.5mpg from tank to tank. The intake has shown no benefit.

lets see some pics .. did you cut the cover or raise it up?

the trd cai is only known for a few hp, not as much as the k&n or volant.

I have an AFE in mine and I'm getting 24.7mpg @ 55mph, 22.5mpg @60mph, 20mpg @65mph, 19.1mpg @70mph, 18.4mpg @75mph, and 17.3mpg @80mph.
It drops 3-5mpg pulling my 18.5ft boat.
