Wednesday

We take posession of an '08 Tundra Crewmax TRD in Blue streak. We are replacing a 98 chev z71 extended cab.

Two of the issues we had to resolve when making the decision to purchase a new truck were:

1) our eldest son is pushing 6'1"
2) we require occassional ability to tow about 8000lbs trailer (total weight not dry weight).

We went though our options. Lease/buy, gm/ford/dodge and toyota. We don't have a local nissan dealer or we would have looked at them too.

Toyota had the only 1/2 ton that we would have trusted to do the job. To get the same level of reliability etc from the other 3, I would have had to go to a 250/2500 type chassis, and increase the costs significantly (forcing us to go used actually).

So, we signed the papers on a new tundra on saturday. My son helped pick out the colors and package.

We bought the folding tonneau, the side step bars and the hood deflector. We're looking forward to delivery day.

And yes, I know no one will believe me until I post pics... they will be forthcoming!

I commend you on your choice of truck and color... Blue Streak rules!

Now I'm going to hear it.

BTW, welcome to the site.

I blew out the driver's side Halo light. The one above the amber. This will be fun finding a replacement. Got to do some research.

I put them back on with the HID's because until I find the right replacement don't need to stir up any trouble with the police. They have enough to do.

They still look good. I did like the little blue lights in there. They were pretty cool.
