No, im more of a fan of the 2nd Gen models. i like the 2014 models but my heart is with the 07-13's. I'll snap a couple pics of it and load em while its no busy here at work. What type of upgraades you going for??
I agree, the 2nd generation is what Im set on... mainly due to the rear seats... I read somewhere they took away the rear seat that slides forward and leans back... in the '14 models, the seat just folds up... Ive been doing research here in the San Jose, CA area, and there are 2012-2013 certified pre owned platinum tundras going for around 44k-48k... not sure if thats too high... but form true car.com it says it on the high end of the spectrum for platinum/limited 4x4 tundras... I'll be keeping an eye out on the price trends...
as far as upgrades, I would drop the stock header and put an after market header... I assume it would help with the weight, and help gas mpg... then I would put HIDs in the head/fog lights... and LEDs on all the interior lights... thats where I would start...
yep, the seats in the rear are a better solution for me as well. i remember going to the DFW auto show this year and looking at the 14's and not really liking the rears. this one is awesome considering i still have my 4 and 3 year old in booster seats.
price wise, you may be able to get into the upper 30' on a limited/platinum 4x4. just have to haggle a little bit. mine was listed at 32k, 32,600 miles, CPO, with Truxedo bed cover, TRD and I ended up getting it for 27k prior to ttl and 3k rollover from my awful jeep. the upgrades sound really nice. im gonna do some light upgrades since we bought our 1st home a couple weeks ago and then went back to the dealership and traded in our g35 for the 14' camry for my wife. just couldnt pass up the deals on both vehicles.
heres a couple shot from this morning. hate i cant garage it at these freaking apts:grrr:
Thats an awesome truck! If i can get it into my garage, ill have 2 inches of space... Lol... Yah rear seats would help with my 2 year old and 1 coming in December.... Are those the wheels that came with the truck? Do you plan to do any upgrades with the engine?
I believe the previous owner powder coated them. But they are awesome looking! I love em. The tires are very quiet in the cabin as well.
As far as the motor, I'm very interested in these JBA long tube headers and exhaust upgrades that most guys are doing. Possibly the volant or TRD intakes as well. Once it's paid off then TRD supercharger. Kinda wanna do a mild sound system. 2 10s or 12s under the rear seats, good amp, maybe a 7 inch screen, and swap out the door speakers
Heck yea! That's a big boy! I bet you're grinning ear to ear!
