Hi, I purchased a 2011 black Rock Warrior Dbl Cab, and an A.R.E. z series cap. I'm Looking forward to spending some time here with other Tundra owners. I've owned fords since 2000. With high maintenance costs from the fords I thought I'd give Toyota a chance. So far I've been pretty impressed with the Tundra. Its just a little... more powerful than my old 5.4. I noticed one thing, that I may be concerned with: Slow Engagment of my transmition when its cold. Its cold a lot in upstate NY. Have others noticed the transmission acting sluggish when below freezing?

Congrats on the purchase...Im def with you on the transmission warming up. I usually just start it up and let it warm up for about a minute before I throw her into drive.

Solution- First mod = remote start. No more problem
A "little" more power than the 5.4. LOL. A co worker recently purchased a new Tundra with the small V8 and said it would walk all over the 2008 5.4 F150 he traded for it.
hows it going guys? i just picked up a 2011 rock warrior last week and its prolly the best buy i have ever made!!!! i almost went with a chevy but got talked into the Yoda =)

Sounds like warming it up a little longer is the answer. No big deal. I don't want to go back to my f150. I can't wait go line up against my buddy's ram hemi. I've been eating his dirt since 2008. He's chip'd his but I still think this tundra will blow his doors off. These things are fast.

X2 on the remote starter. I'm also in NY and I put a remote start in all my vehicles. Had Toyota install one in my CPO used 08 DC and it was worth every penny.

Mine is the Toyota starter. It's ok. My beef with it is when started and you unlock your doors it shuts off. But it is covered by the warrantee. It does the trick. The range could be a little longer. I can't start it across the parking lot when leaving work.
